My 2021 Books!

Hi Friends!  Can't believe it is the end of the year and I am writing this post already!  Wow!  Some days it felt like the year crawled and the dread and doom were never ending...other days it felt like it flew by...here's to a better 2022 for all of us!

Reading was again a pleasant distraction and escape...it wasn't my favorite year for reading but I did pull out a few faves....sharing my reads again and then will list my top three picks!

Tools of Engagement- Tessa Bailey

The Other Mrs. – Mary Kubica

A Good Neighborhood- Therese Ann Fowler

Murder At The Bake Sale- Lee Hollis

The Vineyard At Painted Moon- Susan Mallery

     The Perfect Neighbors- Sarah Pekkanen

Narcissistic Mothers- Lea Heal

   Hello Summer- Mary Kay Andrews

Reunion Beach- Various Authors in Tribute of

Dorothy Benton-Frank

Feels Like Falling- Kristy Woodson Harvey

Golden Girl- Elin Hilderbrand

   Here’s To Us- Elin Hilderbrand

The Sixth Wedding- Elin Hilderbrand

      That Summer- Jennifer Weiner

       The Soulmate Equation- Christina Lauren

The Last Thing He Told Me- Laura Dave

The Hot Flash Club- Nancy Thayer

Yoga Pant Nation- Laurie Gelman

On The Bright Side- Melanie Shankle
 Chicken Soup For The Soul:

Angels All Around Amy Newmark

Bad Fall- Charles Crawford

Not A Happy Family- Shari Lapena

Blush- Jamie Brenner

Off Season- Jennifer Weiner (Short Story)

        Pumpkin Everything- Beth Labonte

Grace In Tension- Claire McGarry

  Accidental Groom- Dana Mason

So you may have guessed from my graphic and bold

font that my three faves for the year are "Not A Happy

Family" by Shari Lapena, (she did it again- keeps you

on the edge of your seat- you can't help but turn the

pages!  So suspenseful and scary and oh so good)

"Yoga Pant Nation" by Laurie Gelman (I really hope

she keeps this series going- this was Book #3 in the

Class Mom series and I laughed just as hard as the

first two books- she is so on point for moms like me

and in this season of life!) and my TOP PICK for 2021

is "That Summer" by Jennifer Weiner (oh friends!  I

didn't know what to expect.  She has always been one

of my favorite authors but after reading "Big Summer"

a few years ago and being so so disappointed, I didn't

have much hope BUT she made me a believer

again...such a wonderful story about love and loss and

trauma and the womens' movement also woven in

with the beautiful backdrop of Cape Cod!  So yeah for

being #1 this year!

I love the class mom series too! Not a happy family was a great read too. I loved Shay and Erika’s suggestions!

I am impressed that you read as much as you did this year with your work, volunteering, kids' activities, and busy social life. I want to read That Summer now. I'm pretty sure I read a Jennifer Weiner book this year- I thought maybe it was That Summer but I just looked it up and it is definitely not the one that I read but now I want to read it.
