The Five Star Weekend by Elin Hilderbrand

Yes friends...her latest is out and I am devouring it...I know we don't have many more, if any, beach reads coming at us from her so I am savoring this one and trying to slow down but it is FABULOUS :)

Find it HERE

Shellfish!

Can you believe we never gave Eva shellfish before now?  I was just always worried she would have an allergy and I have no idea why.  None of us do but it was never the right time to try until this week.  We tried shrimp on Tuesday night.  She had three with her dinner and then a few hours later we tried two more.  All seems to be ok AND she loved it! We may try it once more over the next month just to be certain but she likes it!  How could she not when her mother is a mermaid? ;)

Happy Anniversary!

We celebrated 1 year this week with Diana's AMAZING Vocal Coach Carlos.  He truly is the best.  He has prepared her for auditions, strengthened her voice and her confidence and he has introduced us to his agent who he would love Diana to work with.  We are so grateful for you Carlos! XO

Dream Team Reunited

Well most of us and it was a wonderful night!  When I think back to what we accomplished,  it still amazes me.  This group was incredible.  I was asked by our company president to take over a failing sister company...when I was a mere 27 years old...to say I was scared was an understatement...I went home and cried every night...I had panic attacks but I just put my mind to it.  I sat in an office...all by myself...as the staff had walked out after the hostile takeover.  I studied and learned the business...I hired this incredible team and guess what?  We were the first group in the U.S to turn a profit with that little company which is now part of the 2nd largest staffing company in the world BUT the best thing to come out of it was the amazing team and our never-ending friendships.  When one of us calls, we always show up and I will be forever grateful.

That's a wrap!  Happy 4th My Friends!  Go live it up in all of your Red, White and Blue!

Monthly Musings: Memorial Day Weekend Edition- May 2023

Hi Friends!  Patty and I are so glad you stopped by!  We hope you will join in on our fun.  We like to chat about different topics on the last Thursday of each month.  This month we are talking all things Memorial Day Weekend!  We are answering the questions below.  Please join us- grab our graphic and link back up with us below- c'mon it'll be fun!

 Here we go!

 1. How are you spending Memorial Day Weekend?

A lot of time will be spent on the softball field with our very fun team and families- really looking forward to this tournament!  In between, we are hosting a cookout for some friends and then going to a cookout on Monday.

2. Favorite Ice Cream?

I guess anything that has something chocolate in it

3.  Memorial Day Travel or Hang Out At Home?

The last few years have been spent in and around town due to softball and dance and now that we have the pool we can just jump in anytime.  In years past, we made it a point to get to the beach at least one day.  I know we will do that again but we are in the "busy" years and I wouldn't trade it for the world!

4. Burger?  Hot Dog?  Both?

If I had to choose, a burger but I don't do either very often.  I prefer some chicken on the grill...I know very high maintenance ;)

5. Favorite Cookout Sides?

A fun or festive salad- Corn On The Cob- Watermelon

I feel like those are the cookout staples!

Example of one of my favorite summer salads to make HERE

6. White before or after Memorial Day?

When it comes to shoes I say after BUT when it comes to white jeans I say before.  Some friends were showing off their white jeans last week and they scream spring and summer to me and they were so appropriate on Nantucket!

7. Memorial Day Traditions?

We always went to the town parade.  Rob marched in the parade for 9 years when he was on the school board so the girls used to love to spot him.  I love that tradition and who knows we may still go but we are excited to have a cookout party to look forward to with Eva's friends and families

8. Share a Summer Recipe

HERE are a few faves for Memorial Day Weekend

9. Parades?  Fireworks? or Cookouts?

ALL THREE- hope to see some fireworks but probably won't happen this weekend!

10. Show us your Red, White and Blue!

That was fun!  Hope you will join us!  Here are the topics and schedule for the rest of the year!

Thank You AND All About Red, White and Blue!

OH friends....Happy Monday!!!!  We are exhaling!!
Rob landed his dream job on Friday and I think I am still in shock- ha!  THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for all of the wonderful prayers, amazing support, notes and gifts...this is such a special group and we are blessed.  Prayers work and you lifted us up and helped us over the finish line.

It has been such a scary time...so much uncertainty and I am proud of my hubby to land this role in the midst of a pandemic and a recession...Praise God!

Before we get to the Red, White and Blue fun, I want to share this verse with you...I read it every morning and I feel it is so appropriate and timely...right...now...
