10 on the 10th!

Hi Friends!  Years ago I would participate in a 10 on the 10th linkup where you would share 10 photos, in chronological order, from the 10th of the month.  It was really fun to see how my blogging friends would spend their days.  That linkup is long gone but I see friends do something similar from time to time here.  Who knows, maybe I will start up another 10 on the 10th linkup-we shall see!

I was lucky enough to remember that the 10th was upon me and I actually remembered to snap pics all day!

It was the perfect day to do so.  I had some exciting work things going on.  The girls were off from school for our town election day AND....the BEST PART?  It was 71 degrees and sunny out- can I get a what what??  Ha ha!!

So I give you my 10 from the 10th of March 2026!

Devotionals and Prayers- Reading Blogs- Jumping On My Work Day Early Early!

Sucked Down My Protein Coffee in 5 Minutes- ha!

It was already an awesome work week by Tuesday!  I had some productive sales calls AND picked up a new search so I was giddy even before our really fun team meeting :)

Lunchtime was for my next three photos- Time to Vote- Eva and her besties were in tow because they got to vote between a school dance and a movie night- can you guess what they all voted for?

Food at their Fave- Chic Fil A

and a quick trip to Griffin Park to enjoy the warmth and sunshine- they played manhunt while I went for a power walk

Back to work and back at my desk

A Day with the Windows Open is a WIN in my book!

My Best Boy is always nearby :)

Dinner was Homemade Taco Bell (Copycat) Burritos

 and...that's a wrap!

*Election Results- disappointing again- for the third time, over the last several years, our track failed- our town is really difficult and I often wonder why we still live here- our taxes keep going up and our D1 High School does not have the athletic facilities to support it- I guess I stay because I have no choice right now and the people, for the most part, are great.  Anyway, I digress.  Eva and her friends at least got their wish.  They voted for a school dance and that choice won by ALOT :) *

10 on the 10th: Thanksgiving

Hi Friends...thought I would join in on the fun this month and share more about our Thanksgiving traditions and plans...
linking up  HERE
hey no better time to do so!

Will you watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade? Football? Movies?  We always have the parade on in the background while I am cooking in the kitchen....it goes on once we get back from our Turkey Trot and then it goes off and music goes on as my guests arrive

Who does the cooking?  Fix anything ahead of time?  We all pitch in- it is wonderful- Rob and I do the turkey, one kind of stuffing, the green beans, corn , squash, peas, and apple pie...My Mom does another kind of stuffing, sweet potatoes, onions and cookies and pie and my Father In Law does French Pork Stuffing and Mashed Potatoes. This year Lea is making another side and bringing a blueberry pie :)  See our 2020 Thanksgiving Menu Below!

What time do you eat the big meal?  We usually will start cocktails and apps at 12 or 1 and dinner follows suit around 2.

Do you set a formal table or keep things more casual? Place cards? Children’s table?  Pretty formal and this year we will have our first kids table too-can't wait!

Is the food placed on the table or served buffet style?  Because we always have so much, I set up the food in a buffet style in the kitchen and then we all go back to the dining room to eat...it stays less cluttered and more organized this way

Ham or turkey?  What’s for dessert? Who carves the meat? Turkey all the way...Rob always carves it for me and dessert consists of a few pies and my favorite cookies that my mom makes..Applesauce Jumbles (they have chocolate chips in them and cream cheese frosting- to die for)

Does your family have a Thanksgiving tradition?  Several of them...a Thanksgiving Eve Get Together....walking the Turkey Trot Thanksgiving Morning...and then I go  Black Friday shopping with my bestie Cass and then usually it is Nutcracker all weekend...this year, this coming weekend is our Nutcracker filming so Thanksgiving Weekend will be more low key this year

Yay or nay to leftovers?  Favorite leftover recipe? Yes and we love them in a sandwich format- "Thanksgiving Sandwiches" consist of turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce and mayo- delish!

What will everyone wear?  Dress up or comfy?  We typically dress up...can't wait to wear my Thanksgiving top from Venus this year :)

For what are you most thankful this year?  My healthy family and despite all of the restrictions...our extra time together...we can never get these years back so I am holding onto them for as long as I can!

10 on the 10th

Thanks to Sarah at Sunshine and Books, I learned about Whitney over at The Perfectly Imperfect Mama

I am joining in on her fun linkup and sharing 10 of my favorite books/movies/shows....sharing a few of each for you today.

Linking up  HERE

 Books

Sophia Of Silicon Valley- By Anna Yen

This was my favorite book last year and I would love to read it again....I just related to Sophia so much and it brought back many memories for me as I started my career in the staffing world- I could not put this book down!

Night Road- Kristin Hannah

Another 2018 fave and our very first book for Book Club...this one helped me prepare for what it will be like to mother teenagers....it shared lessons in motherhood, real life, grief and surviving...just incredible

 Blue Bistro- By Elin Hilderbrand

So Elin Hilderbrand is typically my favorite author. I had to share one of her books in this list. Unfortunately I have not been crazy about her two newest books BUT I love the rest of them and Blue Bistro was my favorite.  When I met her the first time, she had explained to the group that it was her favorite to write too....it is the perfect mix of romance, Nantucket and food set in a famous restaurant on the island- pure bliss!

Shows

So....what I am doing in this category is pretty much sharing the shows that I have LOVED to binge watch and will watch again because I can't get enough....the last one on the list is my favorite current show...here we go

Smash

Just finished binge-watching it and watched it when it was on until they cancelled it.  What is it with theater shows?  Ugh!  This one is perfect for all you theater geeks out there....it truly shows you all the behind scenes of life on and off Broadway...could NOT get enough...and Rob and Diana jumped in on the fun too..we were all obsessed

Friday Night Lights

This was the first show that Rob and I binge-watched on Netflix thanks to Zach's recommendation and he did not let us down.  We just wished we had watched it during his high school football years but nonetheless, it brought back wonderful memories for us and we could not stop watching it...truly shows you the importance of football down south and everything that goes into that in small town Texas

 How I Met Your Mother

This was the second series that we binge-watched and again we can thank Zach for another amazing recommendation.  Boy did we laugh during this one...so funny and loved getting to know each character!

A Million Little Things

and Finally my favorite current show...this one is just the perfect mix of love, drama, tragedy and friendship... I am obsessed and it is set in Boston so what more could I want?

Well there are so many more shows I love and I have been completely honest, I think that Beverly Hills 90210 was one of the best shows of all time in its day...so there's that...but I only have so much time to write in the morning, before my crazy days start so there!

Movies

This is a tough one but I am going to do my best to share my top 3 of all time.....

Titanic

Hands down my favorite film of all time.  I went to the theater to see it SIX times when it came out....a couple of times I was all by myself and if you knew my 25 year old self, that would shock you...I was so self-conscious I wouldn't go anywhere alone....that is how much I loved this dramatic romance film

My Best Friend's Wedding

Any wedding movie becomes a fave of mine...two others really stand out as faves too...Something Borrowed and Father Of The Bride but my top pick in this category is My Best Friend's Wedding..the perfect mix of wedding details, comedy and heartache all set in Chicago (which is a bucket list city for me!)

and lastly,

Places In The Heart

I watched this one as a child and was so touched by this story of racism and what is was like to battle that down south, family and community...Sally Field did not disappoint...I have watched it since and I am still as moved

So that's my 10- can't wait to read yours!
