Thomas Sowell is credited as saying, ''There are no solutions, only trade-offs.' Agree or disagree? Discuss.
Yes and No. Being a professional and former "Manager of People", my belief was that there was a solution to every problem. So my recommendation to my employees was when they came forward to complain about something, I would ask them to please also suggest a solution. I guess Sowell makes a lot of sense with his statement because often times, solutions have compromises and trade offs for sure. It is just not always the case. It is another case of gray- it is not all black and white.
What's the best perk you've enjoyed at a job?
Being encouraged to take clients and candidates out to lunches and dinners...having my work equipment paid for...getting raises based on my performance...getting promotions with increased areas of responsibilities...I traded it all in for some more flexibility so I could be more present for my girls and I don't regret it one bit...I will get back there again but right now it's all good

This is the first time in over 15 years that Rob is working back in an office full time and it has been the best thing for our marriage. I believe in communication and togetherness in a relationship however I also believe in independence and having your own space. It also makes for more fun stories and catching up as we compare notes on being in the staffing industry. I think we have done a great job assimilating to this new norm and we are managing the household well!

I'm glad that Rob's new work situation is working out well for you guys! That's cool that you're in the same industry. That snow over the weekend. Yikes! I hope that is the last you have to endure of it for months and months!! Have a great day!
I'm so glad the work situation has been so positive. This is the biggest adjustment in the retirement years. You figure it out, but it's a process : ) The town we lived in before moving here had piles of snow on Monday. I don't miss the late spring snows at all. I do miss the early winter ones a little bit though. It's so good to be available to kids in the tween/teen years and I know they're glad you're there for them too. It's hard to step back at work, but it's worth it in the big picture of life. Have a great day!
Your random thought is understandable. Glad it's working out well for the two of you. I'm thankful we moved out of hilly areas of Seattle to a flatter area of the state and it makes driving in the snow a lot easier. I don't panic anymore. Sounds like you are a good manager of people! Happy Hodgepodge!
What a cute couple you and your husband are! That’s awesome that your husband’s new work arrangement is working out for your marriage. That’s a definite win.
My husband worked from home for almost 2 years during the pandemic, and it was...an adjustment! I don't envy you having to deal with snow this time of year!
You do great at meal planning! March is the latest we get snow in the south. It is hard for me to think about snow after that. Enjoy your day!
I agree about relationships, it's all about a balance. It's good that the new work situation is working out well for you.
We have had snow in April in the past here in the UK but it's very unusal. I hope it clears up soon.
Beautiful post
