Hi Friends! I am joining Joyce today her for Hodgepodge linkup! Let's get right to her fun questions...
What's a lesson you've learned from a mistake?
To always prep candidates on every possible detail before interviewing. I took for granted, a few years back, that a candidate was at an executive level, and I thought to myself that she would know how to properly dress for an interview. As a result of my assumption, I did not prep her to wear professional attire. So, she wore a sweatshirt, and my client dismissed her and her candidacy due to her attire. How embarrassing!? You can bet from that moment on, I prep EVERY candidate on how to dress! :)
Do you salt food while you're cooking or let diners add their own? What's a food you think must be salted? Do you like pepper?
I always season as I go so yes salt and pepper and sometimes additional spices like oregano and garlic. I think that risotto and pasta both need to be salted but I rely on cheese to add that extra salt in those two dishes! :)
What was the last gathering you attended and what did you do there?
Lea's Birthday Dinner on Friday night. We ate....we enjoyed cocktails...we laughed and caught up...it was so good for the soul :)
Your favorite shade of purple? What's your favorite purple flower?
Lilac! and Lilac! I love the way lilacs look but more importantly, how they smell. I grew up with a large lilac bush in our yard and the smell brings me right back to childhood
Share a favorite spring travel memory
When we did a road trip to Niagara Falls in 2017. Eva was turning 3 and Diana was 8. Seems like yesterday. I remember the girls traveled so well and I was so happy that the itinerary I planned ended up being successful and fun. There was something for everyone! We did a boat trip to tour the falls and got rained on...we enjoyed one of the wax museums...we learned about the history of Niagara...we ate at some great restaurants...Mama enjoyed touring some wineries and enjoyed some fun wine tastings and we explored the town of Old Niagara and enjoyed lunch on the banks of Lake Ontario!

Your Niagara Falls trip sounds perfect. I read the other day that more than any other childhood memory children remember family trips taken. More than birthday celebrations or Christmas or any of the other fun things we do with them, trips are the core memory. That risotto looks so good!! Have a great day!
I am the same way with the smell of lilacs! We had a huge clump of bushes in both lilac and white right outside our front door and on the side of our kitchen. Your trip memories sound wonderful.
Oh dear, not knowing how to dress for an interview is embarrassing. I hope the person learned from their mistake.
Lea's Birthday dinner sounds like a fun gathering!
Lilacs are such a pretty flower!
Oh my gosh -- that candidate who didn't know how to dress?!?!?! That never would have crossed my mind to have to prep someone on. Also, I LOVE that lilac picture -- is it lilac season yet!??!?! I am sooooo ready!!!
Your gathering sounds like it was just right! Looks like a fun group. I'm trying to baby a lilac bush to grow. Here's hoping. Happy Hodgepodge to you!
I love how often you get together with your friends!!
I enjoyed reading about your trip to Niagara Falls- it looks like so much fun and the Two Sisters (was it a winery?) sign with the girls is so clever and cute! Lilacs are so pretty- I forgot all about them when I did the prompts...Your outings/gatherings always look so fun :).
