Hello Monday and Hello Prom Weekend!

Hi Friends and Happy Monday!  Sarah and I are so glad you are here!  We are chatting about our weekends.  If you did too, we hope you will link up with us!

This was an exciting one for us...it was Diana's Junior Prom Weekend...here is what it looked like...

Friday Night

Diana and Jaidyn were doing some last minute errands for prom and they requested stir fry so I whipped them up their dinner.  Eva was at softball and then hung out with Papa.

Rob and I headed out to take Laurel and Tom to dinner at the new Capital Grille in the next town over. We were celebrating Robby B's new job and thanking Tom for helping him to get there!  Forever grateful for our friends who are like family

When we got home, I loved seeing the girls do their thing...they were cracking me up...

Then we crashed to rest for the big day!

Saturday

We were up at the crack of dawn.  I needed to do some last minute breakfast prep work for the girls and we needed to plant flowers...when we looked outside, we thought it was a joke....SNOW...it didn't stop us though...only in New England...

Diana had a hair appointment so we left extra early so we could take our time- the roads were awful but we made it!

Back at home, it was time for the final touches before the girls arrived for "bouquets and breakfast."  I am telling you these girls were pros...they made the most beautiful bouquets!

First we gifted them their silk pjs- each girl got pjs the color of their prom dresses

Then the flower setup...

They arrived...put on their pjs and got busy!

Then breakfast was pastries, chocolate croissants, ham and cheese croissants, mini blueberry muffins, bacon and fruit along with juice and Alanis for some caffeine :)

When the girls took off, we cleaned up and prepped for the next round at lunch- our parents along with Cass, Bethany and Laurel were also joining us for some prom fun

First I whipped up a couple of floral centerpieces with the leftover flowers the girls didn't use

and then put out lunch.  Lunch was chicken salad croissants, buffalo chicken deviled eggs, fruit, shrimp cocktail dip with crackers and leftover pastries

and someone was reminding us that it was time for his lunch too!

Diana and Jaidyn were upstairs getting ready...taking tiktoks...ya know...what you would expect and we greeted our guests...caught up and had some laughs...not going to lie...I was very nervous...I just wanted things to go well and Diana to have fun...she has been through so much this year...it has been very stressful so I was so excited for her but also holding my breath...I shouldn't have worried so much :)

First...when the girls were ready...we took a bunch of pics with Diana's fam

With Papa Bob

with Mum and Dad

and check out our transition!

 With Ally...

with Ally and Alex....

and then just this....Ally's Junior Prom...and recreated for Diana's Junior Prom :)

 With Auntie Cass

with Uncle Matt

and then with both...her godparents :)

with Bethany :)

and with her 2nd parents- Mimi and Papa!

with Sissy- Eva

and Kayla and Sylvie!

and a few with Jaidyn before she left to meet her boyfriend/prom date

Then it was time for the prom date to arrive...we were all banned to the kitchen...well most of us...when I tell you I was a bundle of nerves, I was....and I couldn't even imagine how nervous John (the prom date) was when he saw all of the cars in front of our house...but he didn't disappoint...he was dressed to the nines and arrived with the most beautiful corsage...Diana exhaled as soon as he set foot in the house...so sweet and I will remember it forever

and then we spied as they were leaving...look how sweet..he was holding her umbrella!

These two have admired each other from afar since elementary school!  It is very sweet :)

Then it was time for us to clean up and head to the picture house

Diana and John were heading to a friend's house first for a few photos...a sweet mom sent these to me...these kids had a blast together...Table #30

Then we all met up at the picture house...our friend Kelly outdid herself...she set up her sister's house like a hotel...the goal was to have the entire junior class there for photos outside but Plan B had to be enacted...everything was inside and there were still about 60 kids there...just incredible

Diana and John with John's twin brother Rob and his date Ella

John and Rob with their Sweet Mom Kathy

and I got one pic from the actual prom...the cutest

Diana had the time of her life...they all went to a friends house after so it was a late night but I still couldn't sleep until she was home in bed...anyway...it is what I prayed for, for her and just grateful

Sunday

We were still up bright and early and headed to mass.  It was Palm Sunday.  This is always my favorite week in the church every year

Then we rested for a bit while watching "The Passion Of The Christ"- our annual Palm Sunday tradition.

Diana did homework and Eva watched some hockey.

We ate leftovers and then Diana and I headed to a wake while Robby B did the groceries for me.

Last night, Diana had a zoom meeting for cheer and we crashed early.  Wow I was wiped....but again grateful

What were you all up to?

Oh my goodness the snow!! What a fun weekend! Diana looked beautiful, and I love the bouquets- that's been a popular thing for proms here in Mississippi, too.
