Oh friends what a whirlwind! I want to take you through our emotional week...so exciting...so much anticipation and then the waiting and the torture- ha!
I haven't been driving so our usual Saturday Morning Starbucks Date looked a little different. Rob drove the whole fam to Starbucks before Diana's ballet class. We enjoyed breakfast together and a couple of quick little interviews....it was the day before Nutcracker Auditions 2022...some statements are private family jokes and even though you can't see us...Rob and I were laughing AND maybe crying ;)
Eva...the day before auditions...
Diana...the day before auditions...
My girls were ready on Sunday- go get 'em! :)
Diana at the auditions- HA!
Eva's Turn First...here she is with Pal Finn :)
and later on, it was Diana's turn....
Then and Now...
before her audition officially started, she was called to the big studio to do some partner work with the boys...we made eye contact and we were very serious but secretly dying inside ;)
Then she felt her audition went well- she was very happy.....
Once we got home, she started praying and doing this daily ritual of lighting her Mother Mary Candle in between all of her Nutcrackers :)
and because it is Nutcracker Season, in Diana's world, it is already Christmas Season so she started drinking coffees and cocoas and making Christmas Cookies...wonder where she gets it? Ha!
after Sunday...we waited....and waited....and it was torture...and then Wednesday became the magic day.....
at 11:50am, I got a call from Barbara Mullen, the Director of Londonderry Dance Academy and New England Dance Ensemble...she asked me "to do her a favor" and turn on my video camera when Diana got home from school so she could give her a call...and then we both started crying immediately...Diana has been waiting for this call since she was 2! We were so so happy!
So at 2:50pm, right after Diana got off of the bus, we rushed her inside...and she just knew why...and the magic call came :)
We all cried ....so so grateful...her dream of becoming Clara in The Nutcracker came true! We gifted her a Clara Nutcracker so she will always remember this special time :)
A little while after, the full cast list came out and we learned that Eva was cast as a Soldier and a Reindeer....so when she got off of her bus, we told her...she was happy BUT what kills us about her is that she cared more about Diana...she was sooo happy for her sister...yes more tears were shed!
Let the EXCITEMENT and WORK begin! :)

Oh Holly! I had SUCH a good feeling about this!! So many congrats to Diana and your entire family. What an incredible honor and exciting way to usher in the holiday season. It will be so much work but so worth it to see your Clara up on stage. Cheers and hugs to you, my favorite New England dance mama ;).
SO EXCITING! So proud of her!!
Oh yay! That is fabulous news!! I love that she got her own little nutcracker to always remember this moment too.
What a weeek! Clara...that's so amazing. I also love that Nutcracker time means cookies and cocoa...I can certainly get behind that. Congrats to both of your girls.
