Theme Song for 2026

 

 

 

 So I have never named a song for the year...but I was in a gym class Tuesday morning and our instructor encouraged us to name our theme songs of the year and asked us to share them with her so she can add them to her playlist for our class.  As I was working out,  I started thinking about it.

 

I wanted to choose something that would link to my word of the year....JOY...what song brings me JOY?  What artist brings me JOY?  What song, incorporating JOY, would be a good choice for 2026 and it came to me in less than a minute...it was a no-brainer for me....Opalite by Taylor Swift.

 

I love the entire new album "The Life Of A Showgirl."  As she described, it was her most joyful album yet....she couldn't wait to write about her happiness and love with Travis so the songs reflect lots of that JOY.

 

Opalite describes her past heartbreaks and how she always reflected and often wrote about the pain but with some encouragement from her Mama...she learned that she danced...even through the tough times or "lightening strikes" and made it through to the JOY or to their favorite stone...the Opal...or the man made version which is even more colorful...the Opalite.
