Hello Monday and Hello Springtime in NYC!

Hi Friends and Happy Monday!  Sarah and I are so glad you stopped by!  If you blogged about your weekend, grab our graphic above and link back up with us below!

We are just getting back from a whirlwind long weekend in NYC for Diana's last dance comp of the season AND a little spring break fun!

Here is what our time looked like

 Wednesday

Before we took off, we celebrated Eva's 10th Birthday with Our Parents.  We did Italian Takeout from Pasquale's and a Bday Cake- we loved spoiling our little Pidge!

Thursday

We were all up before dawn and left our house at 4:06am to be precise. About an hour in to our drive, we stopped at a rest station for coffee, breakfast and a bathroom break and we were on the road again 10 minutes later.

It only took us a little over four hours to get into NYC.  We drove this time and the ride was not bad at all!

When we got to our hotel, The Hilton Midtown, our room was ready early so we unloaded our bags and headed out for our first activity.

We took a cab to Battery Park and went on a boat tour of the Statue of Liberty.  We have never seen Lady Liberty this close and she was as majestic as you would assume!

After our tour, we cabbed it back up to Midtown

 Epic Cab Ride- ha!

and then headed to Ellen's Stardust Diner- I prepped the fam and warned them we would probably have to stand in line about an hour but guess what?  Since we hit it at 2pm, we got lucky and walked right in!  I had been with Dawn last summer and wanted my little fam to experience the fun too and all of the up and coming Broadway stars entertaining- they didn't disappoint!

After our late lunch/early dinner, we walked back to our hotel so Diana could get her comp spray tan by one of the lovely Dance Mamas Kaleigh.  Eva is besties with her daughter so they were so excited to reconnect and get silly...these two crazies tho...

and I got to hold Baby Aurora :)

We truly powered through....that night...we headed next door for a little dessert

and then we walked on over to the Gershwin Theater and met our friends for WICKED on Broadway and it was just INCREDIBLE!!

and as you can imagine, we crashed HARD!

Friday

We were up bright and early and headed out to walk around and grab some breakfast.  Although we sat in a NY Deli, Diana and I grabbed bowls at Playa Bowls next door.  It was a fun and quick little breakfast

Check out this wall of shows- had to capture a couple of shots because Les Mis and Mamma Mia were right next to each other!

After breakfast, the girls wanted to walk around and do a little shopping so that is what we did around Times Square

Later on, we grabbed lunch at a little Italian cafe near our hotel- awesome pizza- we agreed it was just like the pizza in Rome!

and then it was time to head back to the hotel so Diana could get ready for her comp- she competed with her solo on Friday afternoon

and she did really well!  She didn't place in Top 10 but we didn't expect her to- this was the best talent we have seen- NYC?  Wouldn't expect anything else!  She did achieve Palladium level which was dynamite!

That night, we cabbed it on over to Serendipity for dessert.  We shared some of their famous Frozen Hot Chocolates and ended the night with a bang!

and of course we crashed hard again!

Saturday

We got the girls ready and met the rest of the company at our meeting spot for a couple of quick pics at 7am!

The girls then headed into their convention classes.  Got a couple of sneak peaks of class and Diana rehearsing

Rob and I headed down to Central Park for a power walk...we felt spring and just love it there!

Then we grabbed a quick breakfast...

and headed back to the hotel to supervise lunch break.  Our friend Kary had to fly her husband Kevin home to MGH so he could be admitted.  He is going through cancer treatments and has pneumonia and jut got progressively worse so we held down the fort with the kiddos in NYC so she could take care of things up in Boston.

While the kids ate, Kaleigh redid some hair and I got to hold Baby Aurora again :)

Eva was having the time of her life :)

The girls then headed back to classes and when it was time to break for the day, we had a pizza party in our room and kept the kids occupied until the comp started later on

He was in love with this vase near the elevators (insert rolling eyes emoji here)

It was a full night of comp numbers and awards didn't happen until 11:30pm.  Rob was an angel and took the girls down because by that time, I was toast and asleep by 11!

Sunday

We were up bright and early once again and got the kids a quick breakfast downstairs before bringing them to their classes.

By noontime, Diana had had it.  She was exhausted and had a headache so we decided to pack up and head out early.  It ended up being just what the doctor ordered for all of us.  We were back home a little after 5 and ate Chipotle and did some laundry and got organized for the week!

It was a great one- exhausting and fun at the same time.  What were you all up to?

You guys packed in so much! Great job!! Love Diana´s pink dress with the bow. Alyssa just went shopping with her BF and bought a white dress like that (I think she´s wearing it to graduation!). Your pics in NYC are so good- you did get close to the Lady Liberty and all your food stops and seeing Wicked- WOW! Love how you popped over to Central Park for a walk... You guys did NYC right. Have a great Monday!

What an amazing weekend! I would love living so close to be able to drive to NYC. I love your part of our beautiful country! I'm so bummed that we were too tired to make it to Serendipity on our trip several years ago. Todd tried to get me to go, but that was the day that we walked for like 30,000 steps and I was dead on my feet and couldn't go anywhere else. That was our last night, and we had takeout brought up to our hotel room; I showered and was asleep before nine o'clock. 🤣

Oh, I find NYC is exhausting enough without adding dance into it. Way to go on powering through as much as you did. And Saturday morning date walk in Central Park -- sound divine! Maybe we'll hit Ellen's Stardust Diner next time we're in the city -- we've never been and it sounds so fun!

What a jam-packed weekend in NYC! I lived in Brooklyn, NY most of my life so many places were familiar, and fun to see again. Congratulations to your daughters on their successful competition and fun time with family!

You packed a lot in! Before moving to the lake here we lived just outside the city for six years. I miss many things about it...there's nothing like NYC on a sunshiny blue sky day! Your girls are cute. I am mom of two daughters too, they're grown with babies, but still such a joy. Have a nice week...I hope you get a nap in there somewhere!

What a great weekend! We've stayed at the Hilton Midtown, wonderful location. The last time we were there, we booked a Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island tour and it was so nice to be able to go to the head of the long, long line and get right on the boat. Both tours were excellent. Wicked is one of my favorite performances.

Oh my goodness!! What an exciting, whirlwind of a weekend! I love NYC! I haven't been in years, but saw Wicked on Broadway. It was fabulous! I love Central Park. We didn't get to go to Serendipity when I was there, so that is on a must-do list! The girls looked gorgeous as always! I know you were all exhausted!
