What's Up Wednesday: April 2024

Hi Friends!

FIRST THINGS FIRST TODAY.  Happy Happy Birthday Eva!  You are TEN...Double Digits!  WOW! Hope it is the best birthday ever.  We have grand plans as we celebrate with the grandparents tonight, in NYC starting tomorrow and with her friends in early May...stay tuned for all of the festivities!  WE LOVE YOU PIDGE!

It is time for my favorite linkup of the month when we share What's UP With Us...love seeing what  you are all up to and sharing what is keeping us busy around here!  Yeah for spring! We are entering my favorite time of year!  Without further ado, I am answering the questions below...

What We're Eating This Week

Monday Grilled Marinated Chicken, Rice and Broccoli

Tuesday Grilled Steak, Potatoes and Corn

Wednesday Eva's Birthday Dinner- Takeout from Pasquales

Thursday through Sunday- Eating in NYC during Diana's Last Dance Comp of the Season!

What I'm Reminiscing About

Since we are headed back to the Big Apple, I have been reminiscing about past trips- it is one of our favorite destinations and each time we go, we always make sure to check out something new to us.  We have done the 9/11 Memorial and Museum, The Empire State Building, Central Park, Theater, a Movie (that Diana was actually in), Shopping and The Rockettes Christmas Spectacular.  This time we are doing a boat tour and visiting the Statue of Liberty and seeing Wicked on Broadway!  While the girls are in dance classes, Rob and I will walk and explore and then the rest of the weekend will be observing Diana's dance competition and grabbing quick bites when we can!

What I'm Loving

My Girls of course BUT loving how exciting things have been with both of them and enjoying that excitement with them is pure joy for me!

Nothing at the moment- FOLLOWING THE JOY

What I'm Working On

Family- Work- Balance

What I'm Excited About

Spring and Summer!  Bring on the warm weather!

What I'm Watching/Reading

A great documentary on Netflix called "What Jennifer Did"

Re-watching/Binging the Series "Never Have I Ever" with the Girls

and Rob and I are still working our way through "Blue Bloods"

My two books for April were

"Do Not Disturb" by Freida McFadden

Another Winner!

To avoid spending her life in prison, Quinn makes a run for it. She leaves behind her home, her job, and her family. She grabs her passport and heads for the northern border before the police can discover what she’s done.

But when an unexpected snowstorm forces her off the road, Quinn must take refuge at the broken-down, isolated Baxter Motel. The handsome and kindly owner, Nick Baxter, is only too happy to offer her a cheap room for the night.

Unfortunately,
the Baxter Motel isn’t the quiet, safe haven it seemed to be. The motel has a dark and disturbing past. And in the dilapidated house across the way, the silhouette of Nick's ailing wife is always at the window. Always watching.

In the morning, Quinn must leave the motel. She'll pack up her belongings and get back on the road to freedom.

But first, she must survive the night.

and "First Lie Wins" by Ashley Elst

another great thriller!

Evie Porter has everything a nice, Southern girl could want: a perfect, doting boyfriend, a house with a white picket fence and a garden, a fancy group of friends. The only catch: Evie Porter doesn’t exist.

The identity comes first: Evie Porter. Once she’s given a name and location by her mysterious boss Mr. Smith, she learns everything there is to know about the town and the people in it. Then the mark: Ryan Sumner. The last piece of the puzzle is the job.

Evie isn’t privy to Mr. Smith’s real identity, but she knows this job will be different. Ryan has gotten under her skin, and she’s starting to envision a different sort of life for herself. But Evie can’t make any mistakes--especially after what happened last time.

Because the one thing she’s worked her entire life to keep clean, the one identity she could always go back to—her real identity—just walked right into this town. Evie Porter must stay one step ahead of her past while making sure there’s still a future in front of her. The stakes couldn't be higher--but then, Evie has always liked a challenge...

Oh my goodness! So much good stuff has happened and will happen soon. Can´t wait to hear about your long weekend in NYC which includes a dance competition. Your upcoming May sounds like it will be chock full of good things. Love the head shot- you need to share your secret for turning back the hands of time- you could pass for someone who is in her thirties!!
