Wednesday Hodgepodge (A Day Early!)

From this Side of the Pond

Hi Friends!  I am joining Joyce for her Hodgepodge linkup a day early...since Currently with Jen is tomorrow and I didn't want to miss out on this fun linkup too...so squeezing them both in!  Let's get to it...

1. What do birthdays look like in your house? How are they celebrated? Any special traditions? What about birthdays growing up?

We make a big deal of birthdays...it was the same way when I was growing up...my parents went all out...we always had a friend party and then a family party and my brother and I always had a combined family party because although we are three years apart, our birthdays are a day apart!

My parents always made an amazing cake...the train cake goes down as the best one EVER...my mom would decorate and make all kinds of food and our parties always included pool time since the weather was always hot.  Our birthdays go down as some of my favorite childhood memories.

I have tried to do the same for my girls...when they were little, I went overboard with themed parties for sure

Check out some here

Under The Sea

Frozen

Aladdin

Kentucky Derby

2. Someone is sending you a dozen roses...what color are you hoping for? Are you someone who gets accused of seeing the world through rose colored glasses? Is your accuser correct? Elaborate.

I would have to say pink roses...or even white....heck I would take any color...I LOVE flowers...and yes I have been described as seeing the world through rose colored glasses... I guess I would have to agree...I try to put positive spins on things for the most part...don't get me wrong..I can be a Debbie Downer like everyone else but I try to remember to be grateful most of the time...and sometimes, yes, it means being optimistic and thinking positively

3. June 4th is National Cheese Day...will you celebrate? What's something (besides a burger) you make in the summer months that calls for cheese?

Cheese is one of my forms of kryptonite..I would say my three are cheese, chocolate and pizza...anyway I digress...I may celebrate?  Not sure...if we had wine group that night, we would definitely all partake...that is usually where I consume cheese on a monthly basis.  I like all kinds but my top picks are ricotta...fontina and mascarpone...what can I say...I am a true Italian girl.  Over the summer, you will tend to see cheese in some of my seasonal apps like

Watermelon, Feta and Blackberry Bites

 Burratta, Tomatoes and Peaches

 Red, White and Blue Bites

4. 'tis the season...any weddings on your June calendar? What's the first word that comes to mind when I say marriage?

No weddings this June!  In fact, I think our next wedding will be Zach's on 10/10/26!  Cannot wait :)

The first word that comes to mind when you say marriage is patience...that's all I got :)

5. What are you most looking forward to this June?

All the graduation festivities...Summer weather....walks on the rail trail...trips to the beach...riding with the top down...spending time with my girls :)

6. Insert your own random thought here.

This is the true MVP of the Karen Read case...iykyk

Hello Monday (June, 2, 2025)

Hi Friends and Happy Monday!  I am here with Sarah and we are chatting about our weekends.  If you did too, grab our graphic above and link back up with us below!

Here is what our little weekend looked like...

Friday

We scooted out of work for an hour that morning to see Eva perform in School House Rock- she made us proud :)

Friday Night

It was softball time for Eva and Daddy

and I took Diana and some besties up to Gilford NH to the Bank of NH Pavilion so they could see the Zac Brown Band- spoiler: they had a blast- they rocked from what I am told!

I enjoyed the ride home- no traffic and peaceful way to unwind from the week

 Saturday

It was supposed to be a day full of softball and the strawberry festival in town but the games all got rained out and we took the opportunity to chill and totally decompress.

I made dinner for all of us and Diana headed to work and then we all (including Remi) snuggled and watched "Prom Pact" which is a Disney movie and completely adorable!

Sunday

On the way to the field...had to bop in and visit my favorite Barista ;)

and then we got some softball in!  I was able to attend Eva's first game and they won :)

Then I headed out to an open house

The girls headed over to Cora's for some hotdogs in between games :)

and I was able to follow along with Eva's 2nd game when there were no buyers coming through

 Gotta love the Gamechanger app

After that, it was time to cook up dinner for the fam and then Diana and I headed out to the rail trail for a walk while Rob did yard work and Eva chilled

and last night?  We headed to mass as a family of four..which made my heart happy...and then?   You guessed it!  We crashed EARLY :)  What were you all up to?
