So...once the cars were packed....my office was back to normal...friends? It hasn't looked like this for almost a year because before the college stuff it was grad party central for months...I don't know what to do with myself! Ha!
After that? Yup we crashed! Diana actually headed out with friends and had an awesome last night in town- they drove around to all of their favorite places...spilled the tea...had the laughs and wound up in the high school parking lot with their guy friends for a bit....it was a great send off...and I was pleased she got to bed pretty early too...she needed her rest...we all did for all of the work to be done the next day!
Wednesday Morning
I was thrilled to share the first few hours of my morning with my girl doing some of our favorite things...riding around in the Jeep...getting teas at Nutrition Corner and then grabbing bagels for the fam for breakfast...she shared the tea...we had some laughs...and I know I will remember that morning forever. I am crying as I type this...I am really having a hard time...but writing and this little space have always been therapeutic for me...so there's that...I take comfort in words.
After breakfast and getting a little work done, we were off! We headed to campus in North Andover and straight to Res Life. We were relieved when we saw how quiet it was. Diana was able to move in early with all of the student athletes but they are all spread out in different buildings and apartments all over campus. We grabbed her key and id and wifi info and headed next door to her building.
Then the unpacking began. She is on the second floor of her building which wasn't bad at all.
A few shots of the room before...
and after some progress...
and Roomies! Diana and Laci were in the Nutcracker together growing up...Laci danced at a different studio but came for Nutcracker each year...one year they played "Stinky Pinkies" together...precious...anyway, her stepdad said yesterday we should call them the Stinky Pinkies because their room is really all pink! We are so glad they have each other :)
Laci and her family headed out to do some last minute shopping so they could finish setting up, so when we were done setting Diana up we headed out to Panera for a quick lunch then hit the bookstore for a few items and then we brought Diana back to her room to say goodbye- hardest thing I have ever had to do :/
It is truly so many mixed emotions. Though I am heartbroken right now, I am also so excited for her and proud of her...go be amazing my Baby Bird! Love, Mama

Diana's dorm room looks awesome and she honestly looks super excited to begin this next chapter. She will always have YOU, her rock and supporter. You have prepared her for this and you love hearing about her adventures at college. Allow yourself to process the emotions! I hope that work is a comforting distraction for a little while :).
Thank you so much for your kind words Maria! Yes I can always depend on work to distract me- thank God!
As hard as it is, this was the perfect send off for her! She knows how much you love her, and how much your support her by letting her go! Hugs to you, Mama!! You did a great job raising her and now she gets to shine to the world!
Oh my gosh!!! You could give lessons on how to take a drab dorm room and make it look fabulous!!! Wow! What a great space for Diana to find respite from the busyness of college life. Sending you so many virtual hugs as you adjust to this new normal.
It looks great and she will do great! How nice she will be so close too.
Her dorm room look so awesome and she's going to soar!
Go Mom! Yay! You did it. Her room is cute and I love all the pink. I might be a little obsessed watching dorm room reveals at the SEC schools : ) Some are so over the top! (but secretly I love over the top). Enjoy settling in to your new rhythms and routines.
Thank you so much Suzanne! XO
