Hi Friends and Happy Monday!
I am sharing some exciting news with you. We are starting a little kitchen makeover. I say little because we are doing most of this ourselves and we are, by no means, handy people.
With a little advice and help from my dad and my determination, we started our little makeover yesterday.
My goal is to brighten up this room. Currently we have maple-like cabinets.
This is before.....
Not bad but again, I want to brighten up this room so we are going WHITE! Yeah for white!
Here is during...
Once all of the cabinets are painted, we will install new hardware.
(will be picking that out this week!)
Then we are calling Carmen (awesome handyman) to come and install a back splash. We are going to keep it simple and go with subway tile like the one below.
Since we are keeping our counters (I love them- they are a charcoal and beige granite), the final piece will be some cosmetic touches.
We will be doing an accent wall- right now it is between a light blue and a pumpkin.
See samples below....
A. or
B.
and then finishing up with some window treatments. I am very fond of roman shades so that is probably what we will do.
I can't wait to pick a fun pattern like the ones below.....
A. (to go with the blue option)
or B. (to go with the pumpkin option)
There ya have it...I am a type A and want this all done today but I am learning to be patient....eeek!!! I am so excited!

Can't wait to see the final result! I love the blue/gray accent wall, I've been wanting to do those same subway tiles for awhile, but my hubby wasn't on board. We are currently finishing our lower levels and I want it done. It's been a year (hubby is doing it) and I'm tired of dust, ugh.
That's exciting! Love the blue options!
Blue! It's updated and keeps things light! 😀
This is so exciting! I desperately want to paint our cabinets but my husband is so nervous it won't turn out and then we'll have to purchase new ones - eek! Can't wait to see the final results and any tips you may have :)
A slight change can make a huge difference. My kitchen was gutted and built from scratch 10 years ago. It still looks great, except for the hardware. You are inspiring me to change this out on my own. I still like my existing faucet, but the handles on the cabinets and drawers need to be replaced. Thanks for the encouragement.
Can't wait to see the final result!Thank you for sharing it.
