So....after so much work...and many prayers to the "big guns" including the rosary every day for two weeks...Diana was cast as the Young Cosette in Les Miserables at Windham High School. We are all over the moon! So happy for her- so excited and now we can start sleeping again...ha! On Tuesday morning, we went to Starbucks before school to kill some time and fuel up with lots of caffeine...at 7:02 am, we got back in the car, and after refreshing her email 1,000 times, she announced "it's here!" and then this is how it went...
Diana along with the Cast and Crew of "A Reason To Live" Advanced to "States" and competed this past weekend in Gilford NH.
They then received some special awards!
First, they are advancing to New Englands in Maine in Two Weeks (Insert Praise Hands Here)
Then their Writer and Director won two special awards and Diana got an Outstanding Acting Award. We are so proud of the kids and excited they are continuing to get exposure with this beautiful story!
Diana took part in her first show at Windham High School. It was a weekend of one act plays. These plays are directed by a select group of Senior Students at WHS. Some original and some existing.
Diana tried out in September and was cast in NancyBella Rago's production of "A Reason To Live."
NancyBella wrote and directed this one act play. It was 20 minutes long but it was so powerful.
Out of the 5 shows performed, Diana's show was chosen to perform and compete in an upcoming theater festival. Will share details as we get them- very exciting!
The story is about a family struggling after a car accident. Their daughter was the driver and her friend in the car was killed. Very sad and dramatic.
Diana said she learned so much and didn't think she would like the experience but ended up loving it and it really gave her the opportunity to get her arms around dramatic acting and straight plays.
Chuck Swierad, our favorite professional photographer was there and did not disappoint..check out a few of his shots...
Diana played Suzy- a Mom
This is a group shot of all of the actors and directors involved in the 5 shows this past weekend
and a 6 minute snippet I got on video
I am documenting her journey as I always do...this begins the next chapter of high school performing
