Hi Friends and Happy Hodgepodge Day!
I am joining Joyce for her fun linkup and as always, she has put together such thoughtful questions for us...so here it goes...
1. Let's compare this May to last May. What's changed? What remains very much the same?
Oh wow this is a good one for our family. Last May Diana was still in the dance and theater world...we had just come back from a dance comp in NYC and she had just performed as Young Cosette in Les Miserable at WHS. She was preparing for her end-of-year dance show and WHS Cabaret and we were looking forward to more performances and watching our girls on stage. Eva was playing softball. Rob was working in software sales and I was recruiting and trying to start up a real estate career as a second job. Diana experienced her first heartbreak and I was looking forward to wine weekend in Nantucket with besties.
We celebrated Eva's 10th birthday with friends in Taylor Swift fashion.
Diana and I headed down to FLA to surprise Harry in his dance performance and enjoyed some beach time while we were there too!
This year, we only have one performance to look forward to and that is Eva's show this month- School House Rock! Neither girl is dancing right now and theater is over for Diana.
She is working out and working on some cheer skills to prepare for senior year and college tryouts.
We won't be traveling to Nantucket this year. I will be enjoying seeing my besties' kids go to senior prom.
Rob has joined me in the staffing world and I finally feel like my real estate career is taking off.
Business in staffing...my full time career..has finally picked up for me...I forgot what it was like and the last month has reminded me of why I love recruiting
Eva is still playing softball this spring and is also going to be playing hockey!
She now doesn't think Taylor Swift is cool anymore and it is kind of sad to me...sigh...
2. What's something you may do this month?
Celebrate Memorial Day Weekend in some capacity :)
3. Mother's Day is approaching (in the US of A)...in what way(s) are you like your mother?
What a great question. So many: having high energy- loving love- loving fashion- cooking for others- enjoying exercise- sacrificing for my kids- loving to laugh
4. Did you have a favorite book as a child? What was it and why was it a favorite.
A couple. First "The Monster At The End Of This Book"- a Grover book- loved Sesame Street and then when I was a little older, "Are You There God, It's Me Margaret" by Judy Blume- had my girls both read it too and we have all enjoyed the recent movie
5. Are you more of a tortoise or a hare? Explain.
Definitely a hare- I do things in fast motion- I want things done- done right and done quickly- I don't have time for excuses- ha!!
6. Insert your own random thought here.
May is my favorite Month of the year- looking forward to beautiful weather- all of the blooms-more time outside- planting- celebrating some besties bdays- getting spring fever ;)

Your Mays look quite different- change is truly one of the most constant things about life!! Love following along on your adventures in your fast paced, get 'er done life :). I'm glad everything is going so well career wise for you. You seem really driven and it's hard not to imagine you successful in all that you do! Have a great day!
What a difference a year makes! Last May really does sound like a good one! Both of my girls have gone off Taylor Swift too, I guess it's because she isn't doing as much now.
I love that photo of you, your mom and your girl.
I remember reading and really enjoying Are You There God, It's Me Margaret. I watched the movie a little while ago and enjoyed that too.
Good morning! Oh, the throwback to Judy Blume. Her books got me through adolescence!!! I remember reading them under the covers, afraid that my mom would find them because they were a bit scandalous at the time.
So many differences!!! Ella is not loving TS as much either! She is all about Megan Moroney right now.
I think every girl of a particular age needs to read the Judy Blume book. It captures that time period so well. I have not watched the movie. Did it feel like the booK? I'm so glad your work is going well. You seem like a high energy person and I'm sure that quality serves you well in the world of work especially. Happy Mother's Day to you Holly! Hope your sweet family spoils you this weekend in some way!
So interesting how much has changed in a year! I loved reading that May is your favorite month. Hope your week is going well!
Those were two of my favorite books too. I went out and bought the Grover one just so I'd have it to read to my boys.
