Weekend Recap (February Vaca Edition)

So we didn't go away for February vacation.  We usually don't.  It is tough to see all of the pics on FB of friends and family in tropical destinations, however, I try not get sucked into the "keeping up with the Joneses" as it only leads to unhappiness.

We made the most of the week last week!

Diana enjoyed being in cheer camp and having some play dates.

We had a fun adult night out at Wasabi on Thursday.

Then Friday, we headed into Boston with the Batsons and had a ball.

Lea and I took the day off and took the older kids in early.  We checked into the Marriott Long Wharf (Mike got us amazing rooms!) and then headed over to Legal Seafood for a lunch chalk full of great seafood and even better wine :)
Snapped a few pics!

We had to take a pic with our friend Melissa.  It was really funny.  We bumped into her on Thursday night at Wasabi and then again in Boston on Friday- we were apparently stalking each other ;)

After lunch, we walked over to the North End and visited Sacred Heart Church to say some prayers- it is such a beautiful church.  We lit a candle for my grandparents and enjoyed the peacefulness inside.

From there, we walked over to Fanuel Hall to hit a few shops.  Snapped some picks during our walk...

We wanted to take the kids on the Duck Tours but they don't start running until April.

We headed back to the hotel to meet the guys (and Pidge) and relaxed in our adjoining rooms for a bit with Prosecco

The Marriott Long Wharf is such a beautiful hotel- I LOVE it there- it was built to look like a ship :)
and then we headed out for another walk down to the harbor- so beautiful- my favorite area of Boston!

We headed back to the hotel to change for dinner and then headed right across the street to an amazing restaurant called "Provisions"

The ambience was funky and fun and the food was delish
I had Tuna Crudo and a Warm Farro Salad that was out of this world

Quality Fam Time!

After dinner, we headed back to the hotel.
The guys took the kiddos to the pool
(My two COULD NOT WAIT) :)

and Lea and I headed down to the hotel lounge for a night cap and chit chat

When we headed to bed, we had to get some snuggles in with Pidge of course

Saturday morning we were up and out early as the campaign doesn't take a break and Daddy had to head to the Transfer Station.
You would think with the Spring-like weather we have been having that Saturday would have been warmer than some of the Saturdays in February-wrong!
It was 11 degrees and we were thankful for our friend Bethany who braved the frigid temps with him!

Saturday Night, Rob and I headed back into Boston for my very first Bruins hockey game.
My cousin Michael works for the Bruins Foundation and gave us our tickets- he is wonderful and it was a great time!

Sunday, after mass, I prepped for Rob's campaign party at Lea and Mike's. I made a bunch of apps and organized dishes and then we packed up the car and headed over.

It was a small group but helpful nonetheless and just another excuse to spend even more time with the Batsons :)
Blessed to have them as friends

Whew....I am tired just writing all of this.  One more week of campaigning and then I can exhale...we all can!

Hockey games are so fun! Sad that our Houston team is no longer with us. Boston is on my bucket list- but only in the spring/summer time! You are a brave soul walking around in that cold weather! Have a great week!
