Anniversary Overnight to Boston!
We had a blast last weekend as we headed into Boston for our 5 year Anniversary celebration. It was another big day as Diana had her 1st sleepover! Mimi and Papa took her and she had a blast.
We got to the Colonnade around 12noon and immediately headed up to the rooftop pool as we heard how crowded it gets. I think we got the last two seats and they were the director-style seats at the bar. We enjoyed a few cocktails and some lunch BUT what we enjoyed even more was people-watching. We agreed that the Colonnade Rooftop Pool is the place to be and if you want some good entertainment, than it is worth the price!
You will see our pix and you can read between the lines!
After the pool, we chilled in the room for a bit and then got ready for our big night. We headed downstairs to Brasserie Jo for their famous martinis- although Rob got his standard Grey Goose Orange on the rocks...I enjoyed a French 75 martini....it was FANTASTIC...they make it with Bombay Sapphire, Cointreau, Champagne and Lemon Juice...had the right amount of fizzzzz and got me going!
We then walked over to Boylston and hit Atlantic Fish for dinner....we agreed that it was one of the best meals we have ever had (and thank you Mimi and Papa for this wonderful anniversary gift)...it was delicious! We split a seafood platter, crab bisque and a Lobster Thermadore along with some Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough NZ... and we pretty much rolled out of there!
After dinner, since Rob had never been to Top of the Hub...we trekked it over to the Pru and headed up there...we enjoyed the view...some jazz and tried to enjoy another drink but we had had it by then!
Sunday morning, we got up early and took a power walk down Newbury and headed into the Public Garden...it was BEAUTIFUL! We agreed that we will start scheduling some photo shoots there...perfect for engagement sessions and such. After working up a sweat on the walk back, we hit the rooftop pool again and enjoyed breakfast poolside. We enjoyed some books I bought for our anniversary...they contained "How well do you know your husband and How well do you know your wife" quizzes...we had some laughs!
We checked in regularly on Diana and heard that she enjoyed her first real ice cream. We had given her bites but she really downed quite a bit with Mimi and Papa. The funniest thing was hearing about the sugar high she was on after. My mom said her cheeks turned red, her eyes bugged out of her head and she started throwing herself on their couch and cracking up! They thought she would never go to sleep but when they put her in bed, she was out cold quickly....sugar crash!
Happy Anniversary My Love!
