Stranded (Christmas Movie Edition!)

Here we are- it is the last Stranded Post for 2016!

This month, we were tasked with listing our 3 Christmas Movies we would have on the island.

Well I guess that means we will have a TV or tablet or something with power to watch and enjoy right?  Hey this is a fantasy post anyway so anything is possible ;)

Here are my three that I can't live without

The one...the only...Christmas Vacation

This one never gets old for our family and my hubby quotes Clark all year long...I love in October when he also adds to the quotes, "Won't be long now...it's almost Griswold Time!"  

We thoroughly enjoy this movie and it would bring me pure joy and giggles while stranded ;)

You know I need to be surrounded by romance and this challenge was tough for me because I have so many favorite Christmas Romance movies thanks to Hallmark.  I narrowed it down though and would have to say "Love At The Christmas Table" would definitely be one choice. I love that the movie shows you Christmas Eve every year...the romance...the traditions...and the leading characters are so lovable

and I would have to also say The 12 Dates of Christmas

I love how the leading character has to keep trying to get things right- she needed to learn to shift the focus off herself and think about others- do right by others- be kind and generous and by the end she certainly does and also gets the guy (which is the bonus!)

What three pieces of outwear would you bring with you if you were stranded on a deserted island?

I would have to say my Kenneth Cole Black Puffer Coat

I scored it on Amazon during one of their "Daily Deals" and it is so warm and so fashionable at the same time

and to go with the coat, I would have to say my black Uggs- I wear them all winter- so warm and so so comfy....like slippers!

and for those days, where it is not quite as chilly....a puffer vest...specifically the Lilly salmon one....screams spring but yet keeps the chill out :)

 There ya have it....what would you bring?  I think this whole Link Up is hysterical because who plans to be on a deserted island anyway?  Ha ha!!

Is there anything better more dangerous than going through your kid's Halloween baskets to "inspect" the goods?  Ha ha!!

 

First choice has to be Milky Way- those are like little pieces of gold in the midst of all of the loot!

Next up Reeses- Chocolate and Peanut Butter is the best invention EVAH (as we say in New England)

The one that is not very popular and hard to come by nowadays....but will always remind me of Halloweens as a kid

 The 100 Grand Bar- yes please!!!!

If you were stranded on a deserted island, what three movies would you take with you?

You all know I am sucker for romance.

These three are my go-to movies- I have watched them countless times and they never get old so I know I would be able to depend on them

 Titanic

When it was in the theater, I went 6 times- 6 weeks in a row

This movie touched me like no other

It truly demonstrates that everyone has one true love-one soul mate- and although it may be easier to take the path of least resistance, if you follow your heart, you will always win.

Little did I know back then that I would do the same thing with my life.  It was so so hard getting here but so glad I did not give up the fight- so without getting too deep- Titanic!

My Best Friend's Wedding
Wedding movies are my favorite but if I had to narrow it down, it is always going to be My Best Friend's Wedding

I like the way this one shows you true love being taken for granted.  It also demonstrates destiny in a comedic way and since I am such a sucker for weddings, I love that the entire plot surrounds wedding prep and activities.  The ending always gets me- yep I cry but I love it.

Something Borrowed

and who doesn't love Emily Giffin's books right?

I was beyond thrilled when her first movie was made.

Something Borrowed is another one about destiny and true love (I warned you).  I can't get enough of this movie.

 There ya have it- romance romance romance- I am  a romantic what can I say!

Stranded! (Footwear Edition)

This month's stranded edition is dedicated to 

footwear! Linking up with Shay and Erika HERE

If I were on a deserted island and could only have three footwear items with me, what would they be?

Nike Flip Flops would hands down be my #1 choice.

They are the most comfortable and durable and you can wear them endlessly and walk miles and miles and never feel any pain.  I have worn them in The Bahamas and in Disney (and you know how much walking happens there) and on business trips when I am flying through the airport...and of course to the beach, pools and everywhere else!

#2 would be Vionics

One of my besties recommended these to me and I completely agree with her- stylish, yet comfortable and much better for your back as they have great contour and support!

 and my third pick has to go to my favorite shoes of all time- dressy, preppy and oh....so...comfortable

I can't find them anymore...I am on my second pair and I desperately need a new pair but again...can't find them...so so sad

They are Aldo Gold Espadrille Wedges- they go so well with all of my Lilly things...moment of silence for tears please

We need music right?  He goes down as one of my top three, if not my top choice, for music and personality, of all time...just love him

Side note: As a teenager, I was "obsessed of" him as Diana would say ;) I told everyone in Middle School that I would marry him someday- crazy kid right?

Jimmy Fallon

We would have to laugh so we wouldn't go crazy.

I love Jimmy; he makes me laugh; he is adorable and he puts on the best skits ever (especially when he is with Justin Timberlake)

He would surely keep us entertained!

and last but not least...

Ina Garten

I figure...even if it is only coconuts and bamboo and berries on the island, Ina would certainly know how to whip up a gourmet meal for us!

Besides, her cooking prowess, she has the most calming voice and demeanor

I think she would both keep me calm and keep me from starving....hey pipe dream but this is a fantasy post anyhow!  Ha ha!!

Stranded! (Netflix Edition)

So this month's "Stranded" Series is dedicated to the 3 Netflix Series that I would choose to have with me.

I only have one official Netflix Series that I would have (the other 2 are the series Rob and I enjoyed on Netflix after they wrapped up on network T.V.)

How I Met Your Mother 

and Friday Night Lights (DUH!)

There ya have it!!  Kimmy keeps us laughing- How I Met Your Mother always made us laugh too- what a great story line too!  Friday Night Lights brought us back to Zach's football days time and again and we were devastated when it was over!!  I highly recommend all three (one at a time though!)

This month's item is BOOKS- so what 3 books would I want with me?

This was a very hard choice but I went with the first three that came to mind- the ones I could never forget - that touched me and that I still remember years later

Book #1 HAS to be from my favorite author Jennifer Weiner

I love ALL OF HER BOOKS seriously but this one stuck with me.  It followed Cannie through her continued weight problem and then raising a child and later meeting the love of her life.  Good in Bed was the prequel to this one and it was her very first novel.  It was a tough choice between the two but I am picking this one because it demonstrates the life you live when you meet the love of your life/soul mate.  I am blessed to say that I found mine too :)

Book #2 is Divine Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood
Such a good book about girls- sisterhood- true friendship
One of my favorites that will always stay with me

and Book # 3, a recent fave and one that was part of a book club
Would I have chosen it for myself?  Probably not but so glad I read it.
A book about true love and communicating through the symbollism and language of flowers
Truly magical- just loved it

Common theme?  Love...always...I am a romantic what can I say?
Can't wait to see your books- it may help me to make some new book choices!

THREE THINGS

What would they be?

This month, we are talking Medicine Cabinet Items

 I feel like this topic is bringing out my practical....survival-mode-self but here it goes...

1. An antibiotic- see what I mean?  I would want something to kill any potential infections and/or diseases

2. Tylenol PM- one of my best friends..I mean we need to sleep right?

3. Baby Wipes- my go to cleaning product nowadays....and I don't think I will ever stop buying them :)
