 What I'm Watching/Reading

We watched "The Crash" on Netflix.  Have you seen it?  It is the true-crime documentary that re-examines the 2022 case of Mackenzie Shirilla, a teenager convicted of double murder after intentionally driving her car into a brick building.  WOOSH...it was a crazy one and I felt in my gut she was so very guilty

Other than that, we got a show hole happening here.  Would love your recommendations.  Anyway, I am ok if we don't get some new shows until after graduation weekend.  Barely have time to breathe right now but that's good too right?  Ahhh...

My Book for May was

"Just For The Summer" by Abby Jimenez- Book 3 in her 3 Part Series

Justin has a curse, and thanks to a Reddit thread, it's now all over the internet. Every woman he dates goes on to find their soul mate the second they break up. When a woman slides into his DMs with the same problem, they come up with a plan: They'll date each other and break up. Their curses will cancel each other’s out, and they’ll both go on to find the love of their lives. It’s a bonkers idea ... and it just might work.

Emma hadn't planned that her next assignment as a traveling nurse would be in Minnesota, but she and her best friend agree that dating Justin is too good of an opportunity to pass up, especially when they get to rent an adorable cottage on a private island on Lake Minnetonka.

It's supposed to be a quick fling, just for the summer. But when Emma's toxic mother shows up and Justin has to assume guardianship of his three siblings, they're suddenly navigating a lot more than they expected—including catching real feelings for each other. What if this time Fate has actually brought the perfect pair together?

LOVED...devoured this series...going to look into more of her books for the summer!

What I'm Doing This Weekend

It's Girls Weekend on Nantucket!  Woohoo!  I have missed that little island.  Though I am not attending the wine festival, I am excited to get back to one of my favorite places.  We are leaving Friday morning and driving to Hyannis.  We catch the ferry from there to Nantucket.  Once on island, we are checking into our hotel and walking into town to explore.  That is always one of my favorite parts.  That night, we have a nice dinner planned where I will throw on a dress.  Because Nantucket...duh!

On Saturday, when half of our group will be heading to the wine festival, the other half of us will be doing something much more casual and affordable this year.  We are heading to Cisco Brewers!  We will enjoy some beer/spirits, food and listen to live music.  Can't wait to see it there.  I have heard so much about it over the years.

That night it will be takeout/pizza back at our hotel.  Then Sunday morning, half of us are catching the first ferry out to head home and back to reality.  This will be a great distraction for me before all of the ceremonies and graduation festivities begin.

What I'm Looking Forward To Next Month

You guessed it...all of the pomp and circumstance

Pomp and Circumstance

Golly, girl, you have so much going on but it all seems so good and you do everything seemingly effortlessly well. I need 1/4 of your energy!! Love the throwback pics as well as the look back of your fabulous May. Your upcoming weekend plans sound fun- looking forward to reading about them!

I know all the graduation things are so exhausting and exciting! I can't wait to see it all come together! I am very jealous that you are going to Nantucket. I would love to visit one day. Have a fabulous girl's weekend!

Holly,
I did watch The Crash and have been dying to find someone else who also watched it because I was both blown away and also torn. So, you felt certain she was guilty? Do you think she was intending to also kill herself? Then you also must think that she remembers what happened or at least knows what she intended to do. Right? Or maybe not ? Do you think it was premeditated or just a spur of the moment act? I have thought so much about this documentary because it is so darn tragic! I would love to know what really went on in that car!

I've never been to Nantucket but a girl's weekend there sounds like fun. My WIsh is a tear jerker. I used that song in a senior (college) video for my oldest and every time I hear it makes me a little teary. Enjoy all the celebrations and moments!

I feel like I am running on nerves and adrenaline right now Maria!

You need to visit Ali- you will love it!

That is my only question- did she want to die too ? Or did she hit the other side of the car first hoping to only hurt them? It was premeditated as she took the ride a few times prior

Thank you Joyce- trying! :)
