Hi Friends! I am here with our friend Amy for her monthly installment of Currently...this month we're talking about what we're currently Savoring, Wrapping Up, Preparing, Remembering, and Organizing...so let's get to it!
Savoring
The last days of our Family of Four (and Remi) living under this one roof...so bittersweet...looking forward to a special family dinner...just the four of us this weekend
Wrapping Up
Hmmm...not wrapping up/finishing anything right now...really in the throws of all areas of my life...if I can use "wrapping up" in the sense of packing...then I can say I am wrapping up lots of things for college move in for Diana...I'm gonna miss her too Remi :/
and these bags are the top item I would recommend- they fit so much and you can really pack them down!
Hi Friends! I am here with Joyce for her fun linkup...let's answer her awesome questions shall we?
1. What's something on your August calendar you're looking forward to? Or dreading if that's easier to answer.
What a great question because I am feeling both for one particular day- August 19th- Move In Day at Merrimack for Diana- so very excited for her- excited to unload all the dorm stuff and get her set up, decorated and organized but dreading walking back to the car...will do my best acting that day for sure!
2. August 5th is National Oyster Day...do you partake? How do you feel about pearls?
Awww how fun! You know what? I have a girls dinner planned tonight so if there are dollar oysters, I may just partake to celebrate. Love oysters and shellfish but don't eat much of it all anymore. LOVE LOVE pearls-so classic- classy-preppy and my mom gifted me a beautiful set for Christmas one year and I cherish them :)
3. Tell us about a time when you felt like 'the world was your oyster'.
I have a necklace that symbolizes exactly this! It has the Lola oyster charm and signifies the world being my oyster. I felt like it when I went to college for sure...and even working in my twenties. I get glimpses of that now off and on...trying to hold onto that faith and hope and dream about the future
4. Trip Advisor lists
seven islands in the US that require no passport (for US citizens). If
you're answering today from outside the US you'll still need to produce
yours. An-y-way, have you been to any of the seven? Let's pretend
you get an all expense paid trip to one this month...which one do you
choose and why?
Catalina Island
California~Martha's Vineyard Massachusetts~Mackinac Island Michigan~Key
West Florida~South Padre Island Texas~or Kauai Hawaii
I have only been to Martha's Vineyard out of this list. I would say Kauai Hawaii if someone else is paying for it for sure! Hawaii is on my bucket list
5. Sylvia Plath is credited with the following-
"August rain: the best of the summer gone, and the new fall not yet born. The odd uneven time."
Agree or disagree? In other words, how do you feel about this month?
Completely agree...still in the peak of my favorite time of year/favorite season but change is always on the horizon with back to school...this year even more so...so the nerves have been ratcheted up...but when all is said and done...I still love August...the heat...the beach...my dad's birthday...our anniversary...Diana's Birthday...
6. Insert your own random thought here.
Driving home from the beach on Sunday...we were stopped at a traffic light...I looked to my left and saw that "The Towel Guy" is still there...still peddling his awesome beach towels...he has been there selling since I was in high school...made me miss my best friend from AHS and I snapped this pic and sent it to her...such nostalgia...extra nostalgic and melancholy right now :/
Hi Friends and Happy Monday! I am here with Sarah and we are chatting about our weekends. Hope you will join us!
Please bare with me as ChatGPT and I redesign my blog- it is coming along but my pages aren't live yet...it's a work in progress!
Here is what our crazy busy and fun summer weekend looked like...
Friday Night
Eva had her first Brazilian Blowout appointment with the lovely Taylor. It came out beautifully! This process takes out the frizz and makes thick hair much more manageable.
After that, she made me promise to take her to one of our old favorites for dinner- Coach Stop in Londonderry. She missed their grilled cheese. We were also excited to get the Mud Pie dessert again but they were sold out! Boo...anyway...
We had a great time together and then headed home after dinner and I crashed immediately. Eva stayed up for a bit to chat with and play RoBox with friends.
Rob had a gig at BWG.
Diana was up at Vermont State University for her Shrine practice and banquet. She had a blast.
Saturday
We
were up bright and early and hit the road to Vermont. It took us
almost three hours but the weather and traffic were on our side.
It was fun to see Diana and WHS friends cheer again. It was hot and sunny so we baked!
We really enjoyed their halftime routine...
Then we whisked her away before the 2nd half started so we could make it back to the area so she could get to cheer practice at Merrimack.
Eva went to hang with Papa and Rob and I headed to our last grad party of the season- so bittersweet and had an absolute blast with my favorite senior mamas.
We are starting to schedule regular dinners together to keep in touch. Our first one will be after we get all of our kids moved into college so in September and we are going to make it special. I can't lie- I had a lump in my throat most of the night even when we got into some laughing fits. So glad these ladies came into my life this year...just wish we had more time together while our kids were in school...but again, everything happens for a reason.
After Diana got out of practice, she met us at the party. We only got to see her for a few before we headed home to crash.
It was a long day and we squeezed so much in-we were wiped!
Sunday
We were up bright and early and the girls and I headed to the beach for our Annual Mom Daughter Boogie Board Adventure. The beach was so so comfortable...I almost feel asleep! Though the water was cold, we got pretty used to it and road some waves. That lump in my throat was still hanging around. I wanted to freeze time this day :/
We got home around noon and Rob came grocery shopping with me to save some time. I was grateful.
Diana got ready and headed to her next cheer practices and dinner at Merrimack. After that, she headed to a besties' house for a sleepover with the girls before the first one leaves for the University of South Carolina this week :(
I watched a documentary on HBO Maxx then made us dinner.
We watched some women's college hockey reels and talked about some of Eva's goals.
Once I finished this post, I read and crashed early so I could hit my early yoga class at the gym. What were YOU all up to?
Hi Friends! Happy August! I am joining Kym again for her Everyday Images Linkup. Loving these prompts so let's get to it!
July Prompts - Everyday Images #92

Layers
Yes...even on a 90 degree day...helps me feel extra cozy and comfy while I work AND because the AC is on...it may just be a little summer luxury ;)
Current Season (quarterly)
It is "summah" as we say in New England and it is the most patriotic time of the year (my favorite) so I try to include Red, White and Blue in everything! I
make my own arrangements here. Love having fresh flowers in the
house. So when I have a little extra time, I grab some flowers
(typically at the Shaws down the road as they have the best flower
selection) and I get to work putting together some fun arrangements.
This is the latest one- I couldn't let America's Birthday (especially
since it is the 250th!) go by without making a patriotic arrangement.
Call me extra- I don't care ;)
and nothing beats being outdoors...when I can catch a little break from work...just love the heat and love when everything is in full bloom!
Milestone
Hit our first goal of 200 followers on Tiktok...Eva cracks me up with the way she is managing the content and followers :) Our latest video project this week was Filming the Making of Rolo Ritz Bars :)
Getting Ready
for Zach and Zoe's Wedding Shower in August...we all have our dresses ready to go!
Wings
Not sure if you can see...I snapped some quick pics and zoomed in as best as I could...a dragonfly came to visit me...the only wings I will entertain ;)
Entrance
Our Front Entrance to be Exact- The Warden is on Duty ;)
Young
One of my faves of all time. As we are collecting photos for Zach and Zoe, we are coming upon some gems. Truth be told, I searched high and low for this one- I needed to find it- so glad I did :) Zach and Me circa 2003.
