Despite being in the middle of a pandemic and living in these uncertain times, we enjoyed every moment of the 4th of July Weekend this year. Hope you did too! I want to preface this post by saying we were impressed with all of the new socially distant and cleanliness protocols in the places we visited this weekend in NH. We were so impressed by people wearing masks in the areas/stores/restaurant common areas...made us feel better and we hope to be able to keep our numbers down here in New England...for health reasons and the economy...so...without further ado...here is what we were up to...
Thursday Night
Papa treated us to a lovely dinner outside at Tuscan Kitchen. He wanted to celebrate Rob's new job and us all making it through that tough time. Since Papa lives with us, things can get stressful for him too...he sees our daily stresses first hand and always wants to help...he is truly our rock!
Friday
We decided to head to a couple of our favorite places- we hit up Markey's in Seabrook NH for lunch...nothing like steamers and chowder to kick off the holiday weekend!
and then on the way home we stopped at my favorite city in America- Portsmouth NH- yeah!
Diana and I went into the Sea Bags store and snagged some new baubles...so fun!
Saturday
We were up bright and early and headed up to Tom and Laurel's lake house....and it ended up being an epic weekend of boating...tubing....eating the most quintessential 4th of July meal....and many belly laughs and QT with our besties.....it was one for the record books.....
First off, Eva presented Tom with a very special gift...his very own Captain's Hat...Eva is convinced that Tom can drive any vehicle...including a plane- ha!
the view of Lake Winni from their home never gets old!
Their boat is our favorite part...the kids have a ball swimming and tubing and the adults have fun relaxing with cocktails and snacks and such....
I snagged us new matching insulated wine cups and put these glittery initials on them....the initials won't last but at least we have these awesome cups!
Someone got to "drive" the boat ;)
Late afternoon, we dropped the kids off at the house so they could play and the adults headed out for a new adventure-we rented a Tiki Bar Boat that took us on a 90 minute ride and we had a blast! A friend was cruising by on his boat and snapped an awesome picture of our group- yeah!
Such a blast :)
After that, we headed back. Tom and Steve put together an awesome Olympics for the kids complete with prizes and the ladies got dinner ready...best dinner we have had...lobsters, cornbread, potatoes, corn on the cob, steak tips, quinoa salad, baked ziti and more....a meal fit for kings as we said....complete with some fancy champagne to celebrate (thanks to our Dear Laurel)
After dinner, we got to enjoy different fireworks all across the lake...so festive
Sunday
We headed out for another day on the boat....it was another beautiful day....we really lucked out with amazing weather all weekend!
We stopped for lunch at the Naswa's and got to eat right on the beach and the kids even got to swim right in the lake- it was so fun and the perfect way to wrap up a perfect weekend!
