So it was a rainy day...we are used to those in New England this Summer! Before the rain started, I was able to squeeze in a 45 minute power walk on the beach- thank goodness!
I came home to sleepy people...everyone was on the same page though. Today was the perfect day to celebrate...Zack's 14th birthday and the life of Michael Jackson. Michael was laid to rest today and most of our day was spent together watching his memorial service.
It was just beautiful...we all agreed that when his little girl spoke at the end, it did us all in.
We ended up using the indoor grill that we bought Grammy and Papa and grilled up some pork and chicken with some salad. We surprised Zack with a birthday cake after dinner...it somehow got EVERYWHERE!
After we put Monk to bed, Mummy and Daddy went on a date! We started at the Landmark for a drink (wasn't crazy about my key lime martini...have had much better) so then we decided to head towards the pier...yes it was still raining but we still had a great night.
We hit Surf 6 for a drink and ended up enjoying some of the Sox game too. My watermelon martini there was much better :)
All in all...a very special family day :)
PS Check out Monk in her bubushka that the kiddos made for her out of Zack's tee shirt sleeve...too funny!
