4th of July Weekend 2019 and Hello Monday!

It was an other epic 4th of July Weekend here in New England...I know I am biased BUT there is no better place to be in the summer than New England...we always soak up as much of the magic as possible!

Wednesday

Rob and I were both working from home and the girls were at camp but he grabbed us some steamers or as we call them here "steamahs" for lunch!  We started the traditions of the 4th a little early and it was a nice quick break from our desks :)

Later on, Diana had a bday party for one of her besties and then headed to an extra summer ballet class- she wishes she lived at her dance studio :)

Eva LOVED her dance camp last week...so much that they recruited her, extra young, for Triple Threat Theater Camp which starts this week- it is a one week program for the littles while Diana is at the three week program- they are both BEYOND excited!

After work, we got packed up for the beach!

Thursday

We were up bright and early as we wanted to get a great spot on the beach.  We headed up to Wallis Sands in Rye, NH and my parents met us there.  It was the perfect beach day...hot...steamy...sunny and the water was amazingly refreshing...we enjoyed it to the fullest!

After the beach, we checked into our hotel...one of our all time faves, Sheraton Harborside Portsmouth- Rob and I actually stayed there on our wedding night!  Check them out HERE ...The girls were dying to hit the pool so that's what we did :)

Then we met up in the hotel lounge for some snacks and drinks....

and then got ready to head to dinner at The Oar House.  Check them out HERE

We LOVED our dinner and many laughs ensued....

After dinner, we walked around and looked in shops and grabbed a yummy ice cream at Annabelle's :)

Friday

Mum and I were up at the crack of dawn to get a power walk in- it was some special QT and a little exercise all rolled into one.  We even discovered the famous Prescott Park which is a park full of beautiful flowers and gardens- it was incredible!

We also stopped at Popovers On The Square for breakfast that we could bring back to the fam! Darling coffee shop with such different things.  Check them out HERE

Snapped a pic of these patriotic cupcakes- right up my alley! :)

Mama and Daddy then had to get some work done.  There were interviews to schedule and clients to communicate with....we were both surprised with the amount of work we were able to get done (again HIGHLY recommend the Sheraton in Portsmouth)  for business or pleasure!

Snapped a pic of "our assistants" who brought us some Starbucks (insert heart eyes emoji here)

Later on, we hit the beach again for a few hours...the girls got plenty of sand and swimming time in and they may have been spoiled with ice creams at The Beach Plum from Mimi and Papa.  If you are ever in this area, you MUST HIT The Beach Plum for not only their ice cream BUT the BEST Lobster Roll you will ever have.  Check them out HERE

We decided to hit the North Hampton State Park beach this day due to better cell service for Mama and Daddy.  The Beach Plum is directly across from this beach too so it was perfect.  As you will see on their website, they have several locations but this one is the original and our fave :)

So we got some relaxation in while working from the beach and Mimi and Papa were big helps this day!

Had to snap a few pics :)

On our way back to the hotel, I snapped a pic of this awesome barn with a huge American Flag hanging on it #Americana

Once we wrapped up our work day, we got ready for dinner.  We hit our fave, Poco's Cantina, for their famous margaritas ("nectar of the gods") and some fun fare....

and capped off our little getaway with a boat cruise- Portsmouth Harbor Lights Cruise- it was beautiful- so relaxing- educational and a fun way to wrap up our annual time in Portsmouth :)

Saturday

We were up bright and early and Diana and I walked to Starbucks a few streets over so the girls could have "fancy drinks" which ended up being Strawberry Frappucinos.   Then we hit the road and headed home.

It was an awesome and productive day- got the unpacking and laundry done...cleaning and straightening up around the house and got the bills paid.

That night, the Batsons came over and we "grilled and chilled" and traded 4th stories.

Sunday

It was time for mass and then Daddy was a rock star and got some much needed yard work done...he also did the groceries because he LOVES to do the grocery shopping.  The girls and I hung out and may have snuck in a couple episodes of Dance Moms ;)

Exhibit A

and then Mama headed to Wine Club later in the afternoon, for a few hours...Brenda did a great job and we had a perfect night outside sampling sparkling wines....

That's a wrap!  Hope you all had a wonderful 4th!

My husband and I are taking off for a day trip or a weekend trip for my birthday and I was thinking Portsmouth area... we settled on the cape and Nantucket but this post is definitely thinking we'll have to try that area next. I always like to try to get a little time on the beach, do some shopping, and eat fresh seafood for my birthday! Last year we spent a day in York and Kittery Maine. Sounds like you all had such a fun weekend.
