Screemfest is this fun fall activity that happens right around the corner from our home...literally. People come from all over New England to get spooked and enjoy thrilling rides, shows and fall food and it is in our backyard!
Canobie Lake Park is an amusement park that has been a favorite of ours since childhood. Every summer, my parents would cross over the boarder into New Hampshire and take us for the day to enjoy all of the rides and excitement.
About 10 years ago, the newer owners started extending the season by staying open during the fall and offering Oktoberfest activities during the day and scary Screemfest activities at night. Ally and I actually went one Friday night when Diana was a baby. We were scared just going into the Haunted House BUT NOTHING COMPARES to what they have built it up to now.
Lea and I took the kiddos on Saturday night, after our first comp and it was a blast.
So now....with things bigger and better than before, we got spooked!
You get scared just walking around the park because there are crazy scary characters walking around and coming up to you!
Exhibit A
The kids loved that they kept several rides open. They did a roller coaster and the mini star blaster as well as the bumper cars and a few others.
While the kids ran around having fun, we enjoyed things the "adult way" ;)
My favorite part was the haunted corn maze we walked through- it was so scary that we all traveled through it holding hands...in a big tight group...hysterical!
Diana got very scared and at one point, when a chainsaw guy walked up to us, she started screaming crying...fun times! Chloe became her body guard the rest of the night
We enjoyed pizza and wine at Portofino's Italian Restaurant...you would think it would be awful food inside an amusement park but the pizza is fantastic!
After that we walked around more and finally got the kids Dippin' Dots on the way out...but only after they asked us 1,500,823 times ;)
What a blast....we were WIPED at the end of the night....you always end up on a high after competition...we were certainly feeling that high until we crashed....so much fun!
