I think this was in my top three of favorite Easters of all time. We experienced the true meaning....we celebrated....and we were together. We enjoyed all of our old traditions and created a new one too. We were missing Grammy but being with the fam helped to ease the pain. Here is what the weekend looked like....
Good Friday
After a fun breakfast with Miss Jill and Mags,
Eva killed it at "nastics" ;)
Mama then got some work done and Eva did a great job of keeping busy.....
At lunch time, Mama headed over to Cass's with the girls' Easter Baskets and maybe some prosecco ;) Nothing better than a lunch time catch up with your bestie- priceless
That night, I let the girls open their gifts from Auntie Cass-they were so excited
and then we headed to the live stations of the cross...it was so so moving and so special for us to experience it together...we have now created a new family tradition
We then grabbed dinner while Diana was at rehearsal and Eva LOVED the live music...we all did but she partied it up :)
Holy Saturday
We were up bright and early and started another new family tradition. We made resurrection rolls. It was so special. I read the girls some scripture and described what each ingredient symbolized. They really enjoyed making the rolls and I think they understood most parts (well Diana did anyway).
Then Mimi and Papa joined us and we made bunny breads, colored the eggs and made birds nest cookies! It was a busy but fun day and part of our annual tradition!
I made chicken salad and baked chicken nachos for lunch...oh yes and my homemade guac which captured its newest fan ;) (she ate half the bowl!)
Then it was time to get ready for our 2nd Annual Neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt because we host!
It was just as fun as last year and even more relaxing being on a Saturday- the adults sipped cocktails and ate snacks while the kids found eggs...stuffed themselves with candy...and got tractor rides from Mr.Chris- it was so much fun!
We ended our night by taking my parents on a ride around town....then it was to bed early to get ready for the big day. Well...Rob headed to the airport to pick up Papa...he got home from Florida and then picked up Zach on their way home...that is a funny story for another day!
Easter Sunday
It was a beautiful and fun family day! I did some quick prep in the morning....the girls LOVED their baskets from the bunny AND their new beta fish which were appropriately named, "Caution" and "Danger"- hysterical! They then enjoyed yet another egg hunt outside...just grateful it was warm enough to get out there this weekend ! (after the longest winter ever!)
We headed to mass...our
entire family...which warms my heart and then we came back for a crazy
fun bloody mary bar and delicious tenderloin and shrimp dinner. I was
glad that everything came out okay...everyone seemed to love it which
makes me happy!
Blessed...He is Risen! I cannot wait to read all about your beautiful days too! :)

We made Resurrection Rolls for the first time this year, too!
And I love the Easter-themed snacks at your egg hunt!
It looks like you had a great Easter! I love those peep kabobs and carrot cheese appetizer--saving those ideas for next year!
The girls look great in their Easter dresses. Glad it went well for everyone.
Now, THAT is the way a Bloody Mary should be!
