Wednesday Hodgepodge

Hi Friends and Happy Wednesday!  I am joining Joyce  again for her fun weekly linkup....we are answering her questions below...

1. What do you make more complicated than it needs to be?

I guess the meals I make? My kids would be so pleased with the same few dishes each week- mac and cheese-chicken fingers and fries- grilled cheese or burgers.  I try to have variety and plan healthy meals and often times, I get grimaces and snarls- ha!

2. What impresses you?

People who work hard and are humble and kind- those who lift others up- inspirational leaders who continuously motivate and inspire

3. On a scale of 1-10 how picky of an eater are you?  (1=extremely and 10=not at all) If you had to eat a meal made entirely of one color what color would you choose?

 10.  I will try anything.  I love trying new foods in new regions to me.  It is one of my favorite parts of life.  The best places I have dined with the best food have been Canada and Italy.  Hope to get to France one day to try new foods there as well.

4. What does balance in life mean to you? Does your life currently feel 'balanced'?

Being able to balance and manage professional and personal needs- juggling or balancing home life and work. Yes.  I can truly say my life currently feels balanced.  I am grateful- never take the flexibility and balance for granted.

5. If you could travel the world for a year what would be your first destination?

Italy- yes again.  Ha!  If you had asked me this same question five or more years ago, I would've said somewhere tropical.  Don't get me wrong, a tropical destination would most likely be my 2nd stop but I would love to see the rest of Italy including Milan- Lake Maggiore and Lake Como- Florence- Tuscany- Venice and more!

6. Insert your own random thought here.

All of the extra hard work that Diana and Daddy put in to applying for scholarships has paid off.  We got invited to "Blue and Gold Night" at WHS as Diana has won a scholarship/award...we are so excited to see what she gets! :)

How exciting to find out what award(s) Diana won! Your kids will appreciate your meals... some day! When THEY are making healthy, delicious meals for their kids, they will tell them about the meals you made for them that they didn't appreciate, lol! I hope you make it back to Italy and to France, too. I'd love to spend a lot of time in Europe... and the Caribbean.

Lago Maggiore was one of our favorite trips, the perfect mix of sightseeing, relaxation, and of course fabulous food. I recommend : ) A scholarship is exciting...congrats to your daughter! Have a great day!

Ahh! I try an cook a new meal or two each week and even though they come in a recipe subscription box they can be so complicated. Thankfully they always go down well with my family.
Congrats to Diana with her scholarship/award! You must be very proud!

Congrats to Diana! I overcomplicate dinner, too! Tom reminds me that a meat and two veg is fine. Lol. It's usually the meat that stumps me. I love cooking all types of vegetables. There is so much to see in Italy so I don't blame you. I have only been to Venice.

That is something exciting to look forward to for Diana! You do a great job of balancing all the things and I am impressed at not being a picky eater. It is rare to meet someone like that. Enjoy your day!

I'm like that with meals too; my family often ask me to make the same thing week after week and I always answer with "we just had that!" Congrats to Diana on her scholarship. I think you do a great jog balancing ALL THE THINGS-- work, family, friends, fun, parenting, etc.
