Wednesday Hodgepodge on Thursday again!

Hi Friends!  I am here with Joyce for her fun weekly linkup.  I am linking up a day late due to Currently with Amy..but alas....I can't miss these fun questions....so here we go...

1. What's something you may do this month?

Celebrate Memorial Day?  I always love to celebrate this patriotic holiday and unofficial start to summer...but we have a softball tournament that weekend...like most summer weekends so will have to get creative with timing and what we do

2. Hola! Hodgepodge Day lands just after Cinco de Mayo... how do you feel about Mexican food? What's your favorite dish? Do you make it at home or is it a strictly dine out option?

We love Mexican food.  I love a good burrito or taco or Mexican dishes that use cumin and chili powder and sometimes a good mole sauce- yum!  Always a sucker for a spicy mango margarita to go with these dishes too ;)

3. When the children of today grow up what do you think they'll say about this time period? What do you most hope they remember?

That we were curious but all afraid of AI....that their parents tracked them on Life 360 and other apps 24x7...ha ha!!

I would want them to remember that their parents worked from home sometimes or all the time and they liked having them there when they got home from school.

4. What advice would you give a new mother?

"The Days Are Long But The Years Are Short." When I was on maternity leave with Diana...I was chatting with a candidate one day...he told me that and no truer words have ever been spoken.  Breathe...you will sleep again...and you will yearn to get these years back!

5. What's a phrase your mother often said to you? If you're a mom do you say it to your own children?

"Don't say the word hate...we don't hate anyone...hate is too negative of a word.  It's not good to hate.  You can say dislike greatly." I sometimes will say the same thing to my girls.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

As we are approaching Mother's Day Weekend, I want to express my gratitude for my mom and my girls who made me a mom too.  I am surrounded by the best women who truly lift me up every day.

Motherhood is a gift I do not take for granted.  It is the greatest gift I have ever received tied with being the daughter of a great mother who still loves to get sucked into the daily high school drama.  We just shared a laugh together on Monday about us loving all the "tea" and getting sucked into all of the ups and downs.  She is always the first person I want to call when something happens or the girls bring "tea" home.  I don't take that for granted either.

Happy Mother's Day to all of the wonderful moms out there.
