Ghosts In The Graveyard

Hi Friends!  I thought I would share this recipe again because it has been such a crowd pleaser over the years...especially with the little ones.  I originally posted it in 2011 HERE but over the years, our pictures and technology have improved so much so I wanted to share it again and make it more visually pleasing and easier to read!  This is a Kraft Food recipe...pulled it out of a magazine...years ago...even before Pinterest...ha!  Still remains a fave today :)

Ingredients
  • 2 pkg. (3.9 oz. each) chocolate instant pudding mix
  • 3 cups cold milk
  • 1 tub (12 oz.) COOL WHIP Whipped Topping, thawed, divided
  • 15 OREO Cookies, crushed (about 1-1/2 cups)
  •  Assorted decorations: 3 Milano Cookies (I mean a recipe with Milanos?  For real? HAS to be a winner ;) , decorating gel, 5 candy pumpkins, 10 candy corn pieces

 Instructions

  • Beat  pudding mixes and milk in large bowl with whisk 2 min. Let stand 5 min. Stir in 3 cups COOL WHIP and half the cookie crumbs. Spread into 13x9-inch dish; sprinkle with remaining crumbs.
  • Refrigerate  1 hour. Meanwhile, decorate CAMEO Cookies with decorating gel to resemble tombstones.
  • Insert  decorated cookies into top of dessert just before serving. Add candies. Drop large spoonfuls of remaining COOL WHIP onto dessert to resemble ghosts.

NOW!  What I love about this recipe is the flexibility of it all- if you don't have the patience (sometimes like me) to form the ghosts with the whip cream, than you can substitute the Peeps ghosts that stand up very easily....you can also substitute different kinds of cookies if you don't like Milanos (God forbid)...we have added gummy worms to the soil some years too...just have fun with it

This is the most festive, fun and delish dessert around Halloween...give it a shot..guaranteed it will be wiped out in a day!
