Friday Favorites (RAD Exams Edition)

It is also one of my very best friend's birthdays....Happy Birthday Lea!  I made this collage for her and posted on Insta and FB :)

and this week's Friday Favorites is dedicated to our Little Monkey and her BIG WEEK! 

 This was the first year that Diana was eligible to participate in the Royal Academy Of Dance Exams or "RAD" Exams at her dance studio- Londonderry Dance Academy.  It is an honor and so so much work.

We are so proud of all of the work she put into the various dance numbers.  She had to perform solo and also with her pal Harry- they did traditional ballet numbers to different styles of music from classical to show tunes and then they did a soft shoe number using canes.  I wish I could've watched but no one is allowed to as they are performing and being scored by the judges.

As the Director, Mrs. Mullen shared, the scores will take a month to come in.  The judges go back to the UK and record the info and results in their global registry and then they are sent to the studio.  What this also means is that if Diana is traveling, at any point, she can take a class in any of the studios that are part of RAD and pick right up at the level she is at!  So very cool!

 Then I ran up to the studio on my lunch break and got to see my monkey before she went in.  I also got to chat with Mrs. Mullen which is rare and loved my time with her- we are so grateful for how much she is helping us to raise this little girl!

 After they were done with their exams, they came out and they were VERY excited and pleased with their performances!

 It was an incredible experience for Diana- we are so excited to see her scores in a month!

That night, Diana had another special event- the 5th grade chorus concert at school and she had a little solo.  They did a few songs from The Greatest Showman and it was wonderful!  Most of the audience was in tears!

Big Day and she rocked it!  This was the highlight of our week so it was only right to dedicate Friday Favorites to our little Monkey!
