Hi Friends!  BONUS POST for the week!  It is time to link up with Jen and share four somethings.  We are sharing some things we loved, some things we learned, some things that went well, and some things we let go of. So let's get to it!

 

 

Loved

 

Making my teas at home.  Purchasing the Herbalife products on discount sites and making these bad boys has saved me money and is a good long term strategy for health AND savings

 

 

 and my Fall Nails- went with Navy because one week from tonight is our first football game- GO JAGS!  :)

 

 

and of course the rail trail, but LOVE when we bring Remi because he is SO HAPPY and loves it as much as Mama does :)

 

 

Learned

 

How to negotiate in real estate- when things come up during an inspection- learning so much from this transaction and so happy for my buyers

 

 

 

Went Well

 

Blackout Sponsors

 

I was able to bring in the most sponsors this year...the most in our history...and that means more funds going to pediatric cancer research and more awareness in general....we are on a roll and no other work feels better than this

 

 

 

Let Go Of

 

Senior pics that won't make the cut...we have gone through the proofs...it is so hard to decide but we can't wait to get our final prints :)

 Loved

 

Seeing Shania Twain again...5th time...she gets better with age I swear!

 

 

 

 

Learned

 

 How to work with a client on the buying side of real estate...more work than the selling side but really interesting and fun...yes it can be stressful at times but it always works out the way it is supposed to for sure

 

 

 

Went Well

 

Eva was recruited to play for a club softball team....and though she was offered a spot, she still had to go through the formal try out process and she "slayed" it as the kids say ;) 

 

 

Let Go Of 

 

I guess the notion that all professionals and good people will do the right thing.  I celebrated 10 years with my firm this year and I didn't even get a pen.  (That's the joke in my family)...anyway...it really wasn't even recognized...my boss forgot and sent out an email a few weeks later lumping me in with a co-worker's anniversary...yes I am still salty about it but letting go of that anger and disappointment and realizing not everyone will do things the way you expect them to...I will just expect the best from myself and leave the rest behind or "let go of it all"

 Hi Friends!  I am joining Jennifer for her fun linkup where we share four somethings!  We are sharing some things we loved, some things we learned, some things that went well, and some things we let go of this month.

Loved

 

Picking strawberries with Eva...quality time...beautiful weather to be outside...yummy strawberries to make some fun desserts with... 

 

 

 

Learned

 

 Lots about the legal system in the U.S and in Massachusetts specifically as I followed the Karen Read case.

 

 

Went Well

 

 

A client negotiation.  I secured a modified retained agreement with a new client and it wasn't easy.  It took about two months and after one No...they crawled back...now to find them the perfect person! 

 

 

Let Go Of

 

A few schools off Diana's college list...thanks to our trusty consultant...feels so good to have a professional to lean on and get advice from!

 Loved

 

My in-laws' anniversary was yesterday...and my mother-in-law passed away a few years ago...Rob called me to tell me that a cardinal was following him all the way to work and just as he called me, I walked into Revitalize and spotted these napkins (her song)...Grammy is with us...reminding us of the love...always...

 Oh and obsessed with these Starburst Chews- unwrapped- FaveReds of course :)

 

 Learned

 

 That I actually love sales and I am kinda good at it...in my day job (recruiting)...in my 2nd job (real estate) and the work I do with a non-profit..relationships are paramount and more people want to do business than I give myself credit for...I have to remember that if I do what I know is right..the rest will fall into place...and to practice what I preach which is, "work hard- be humble-be kind"

 

 

 

 Went Well

 

A recent placement with a prestigious higher ed institution...gave me hope again...my first home sale...got me even more excited about this side gig...and new sponsorships I secured for Blackout...all about making the connections and under promising while over delivering :)

 

 

Let Go Of

 

 

 

 

 Lots of emails!  Cleaning up and getting organized with my personal email as well as my real estate email accounts and it feels great!

Hi Friends!  BONUS POST for the week!  I am joining Jennifer for her fun linkup.  Once a month, we share things we loved, some things we learned, some things that went well, and some things we let go of.

Loved

 

Warmer Days- The Rail Trail- Teas- A College Visit to UGA 

and some newer tv series ("Good American Family", "Ransom Canyon" and "Paradise")

 

 

 

 

Learned

 

 There is so much to this college process....making the list...making sure you apply to at least 15 schools...having realistic schools, safety schools and reach schools.  Don't be afraid to apply to private institutions as they sometimes give more aide...so much to think about.

 

 

 

Went Well

 

The last month or so....college tour at UGA...the prom...Easter...though it is a crazy and busy and sometimes stressful time, I will look back on this month as a great one...here for it all and happy just seeing my kids happy...my heart is squished!

 

 

 

 

Let Go Of 

 

Some major things/people over the last four months....it has been a challenging year but also one of transformation, compassion...and love...helping my kids through some tough things...remembering that what is most important is their happiness...holding them accountable but setting realistic expectations and reminding them to focus on the good and the people who choose them...not always easy..sometimes it is easier to reflect on the past...second guessing yourself...blaming yourself for things not working out...but true faith is looking forward and doing what you know is right...the rest will fall into place

LOVED

 

 Quality time with besties...being able to be more social again after a pretty quiet winter...time with my book club and especially hosting my book club ladies.  When cooking and making us some bites, I snapped a pic of the basil I used for a bruschetta dip...it was beautiful and smelled like heaven!

 

 

LEARNED

 

 LOTS from Mel Robbins' Book "The Let Them Theory"...it is helping to preserve my energy...make me less angry and just do the best I can...can't control others...life isn't fair...focusing on the positive and it is bringing a peace I never had...truly

 

 

 

WENT WELL

 

Real Estate....thank God...finally feel like I can be successful at something again...had so much fun with the selling process...it is not over but the bulk of the work is and I learned so much AND enjoyed every moment!

 

 

 

LET GO OF 

 

Lots of clutter in and on my desk...feel like cleaning out right now...it is invigorating!
