Hello Monday on Tuesday and Hello Memorial Day Weekend 2025!

Hi Friends and Happy Monday Tuesday!  Hope you had a fabulous Memorial Day Weekend!  I am here with Sarah and we are chatting about our long weekends.  If you blogged about yours, grab our graphic above and link back up with us below!

I am backing up to Wednesday night...just to document our life...Here is what our Memorial Day Weekend looked like...

Wednesday Night

The ladies took out our besties to celebrate their May birthdays- Denise, Beth Ann and Cass!  We enjoyed a lovely dinner at Dreo :)

 Thursday Night

Uncle Matt made us Spanish Rice and brought it up for dinner- I threw together a salad and we had a great time catching up!  I had to leave for a bit to take Diana to her cheer private- she is getting really close to landing her full!

 Friday Night

Had to get the holiday weekend started off with one of my festive flower arrangements :)

Rob and Eva headed to her first softball game for the tournament weekend...with Cora of course...got a cute selfie from the car

I headed out with Cass- we enjoyed a lovely dinner at the bar at Capital Grille-we split the oysters, caprese salad and lobster mac and cheese- all delish and such a fun and busy atmosphere!

Diana was hanging with her girls

 Saturday

We were up bright and early for softball!  Eva played two games- 8am and 9:30am- though it was rainy, it was enjoyable under a tent- snapped a few great pics in between games

Then it was time to relax for a bit at home- Rob took Eva to watch some other teams play.

That night, Diana headed out with friends.  Eva hung with Papa and Rob and I met out with Lea and Mike- we had a blast having cocktails and dinner over at Tavern In The Square- it had been way too long...we had so much to catch up on...good for the soul

 Sunday

We were up again at the crack of dawn for more softball...another 8am game and this time Mimi and Uncle Matt joined us - Papa Pete was golfing....we enjoyed the first game and when the girls won...they played again at 10am...we stayed but took a little break at Starbucks in between the games...we needed to warm up...so so chilly!

The 2nd game was not victorious and thus ended softball for Eva for the weekend

We all then headed back to our house and enjoyed cooking out BUT eating in...I can't believe this is the only pic I snapped...my firecracker dessert treat...sigh...would've been a great day for pics as we were all there

That night, Diana was working at Red's, so Rob, Pidge and I bopped by to visit her...share some nachos and play some Keno

Monday

Memorial Day!  I started my day by taking Remi for a walk, getting some work done, working on some Blackout initiatives, meal planning and grocery ordering and blogging of course!

Then Rob, Pidge and I headed to the rail trail- long walk (4 miles) for Rob and me and a nice bike ride for Pidge- Diana stayed home to get her homework done and then she went for a run at the rail trail as we were finishing up

We relaxed at home for the afternoon and then headed out to meet with besties for some pizza at 900 Degrees in nearby Manchester- it was a fabulous way to end our long weekend!

Wednesday Hodgepodge (May 21, 2025)

From this Side of the Pond

Hi Friends and Happy Hodgepodge Day!  I am here for  Joyce's fun linkup!  She always puts together such thought provoking and entertaining questions!  This week... it seems to be a BEE theme :)

Here we go...

1. May 20th is World Bee Day...what's something that's kept you 'busy as a bee' lately?

All of the End-Of-School-Year events...concerts...sporting events...prom...and more...crazy but fun...I know these days don't last

2. Do you like honey? What's something you make or enjoy that calls for honey?

Yes I do although I don't consume it regularly.  My favorite way to have honey is to pour it over some type of cheese...typically goat and enjoy with crackers...my favorite honey is truffle honey from our nearby Tuscan Market

3. "Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body." Proverbs 16:24

What's a proverb you love, or one that speaks to you or has helped you in some way?

The Bible is full of Proverbs, a whole book in fact, if that helps with your answer. The word proverb is defined as 'a short pithy saying in general use, stating a general truth or piece of advice'.

Proverbs 12:25 says, "Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up." This verse emphasizes the impact of both negative and positive emotional experiences on a person's well-being.

In essence, Proverbs 12:25 reminds us that while anxiety can be a heavy burden, a good word can bring relief and encouragement.

4. Tell us about a 'sweet' moment in your life recently that filled you with joy, gratitude, or peace.

Something that Diana had prayed about...quite hard...did not happen...well not in her timing anyway...when it finally did happen, we talked about it and wondered if God was playing a joke on her...because her prayer was answered, one year later...it reminded us both that God works in mysterious ways...and he is always in charge...feeling her joy and sharing my gratitude of course

5. When you were a child, what did you want to 'be' when you grew up? How close did you come to that?

A teacher...not even close...always think about going back to school and having a career change...probably in retirement...ha!

6. Insert your own random thought here.

One of my favorite weekends of the year is upon us...I love how Memorial Day Weekend is the unofficial kickoff to summer...although our weather will not be cooperating- cold and windy here- I have ensured that we have fun plans so we are spending time with our people and living life to its fullest- we will have a nice mix of family and friend time- softball- a cookout- can't wait to recap next Tuesday!

Hello Monday on Tuesday! (May 28, 2024)

Hi Friends and Happy Monday....I mean Tuesday!  I am here with Sarah and we are recapping our MDWs...hope you will join us!

Friday

It was my bestie Cass's Bday first and foremost!

Then it was the start of Eva's Memorial Day Weekend Tournament that night.  Though they got crushed by Londonderry, it was an exciting game!

Saturday

We headed out for a date walk first thing!  The weather was AWESOME

Then it was time to take Diana to dance and head to the next softball game.  Another blood bath- eek but Eva did pretty well pitching

Between games, Violet came over to swim and have lunch, Daddy started staining the deck and Diana and I headed to the airport for our secret adventure!

We were heading down to Fort Lauderdale to meet up with Tina and surprise Harry at his big spring show at the Harid Conservatory where he is studying ballet. :)

We had several delays and the flight was longer than normal due to the pilots having to go around some big storms.  The flight should've taken about three hours and it took over four.

We got to our hotel a little before 11 and looked everywhere for food.  We ended up Door Dashing pizza  and we scarfed it down and crashed hard!

(At home the 2nd game on Saturday was another loss)

Sunday

We were up by 7 (Diana insisted on setting the alarm so we could get quality beach time in).  I got a fun pic text of my loves at the softball game ready for their 8am game!

and this was our view.....

(My birthday present from Cass last year and the first time I was debuting it!)

It was SO HOT!  Such a shock to the system ;)  We laid out and jumped in the water every so often...we spent a good three hours on the beach!

Then we headed back to our hotel, freshened up and walked down to Senor Frogs for some nachos and fun drinks- it brought back so many memories of Spring Break in College- ha!  Diana was named a princess five minutes after we sat down...pray for me ;)

Meanwhile, at home, it was another loss and an end for the Windham Wildcats in the MDW tournament.  Cora came over to hang out and swim with Eva for the day so that cheered her up.

Meanwhile, back in Fort Lauderdale, we walked back to our hotel to get all dolled up and Tina picked us up around 1:30.  We were so happy to see her and so excited to see Harry dance and truly surprise him!

He was simply incredible...he just gets better and better and is a true star in the making!  I was sad that no pics or videos were allowed.  Check out our surprise after the show though...

We then headed to dinner at the Capital Grille to celebrate a wonderful performance and our beautiful friendships

When Tina took us back to our hotel, we said our goodbyes and crashed a little after 10.

Monday

Our alarm was set for 2am- UGH- anyway - we powered through-checked out and Uber'd to the airport.  Our flight was at 6am and we landed in Boston around 9.

Fueling up before our flight- my favorite look- NOT

The rest of the day was getting organized for our week!  Diana headed out with a friend for a bit but came home to do her homework and then head to a dance class.
