Wednesday Hodgepodge

Hi Friends!  It is time for Hodgepodge so I am linking up with the lovely Joyce and answering her fun questions...here we go...

1. St. Patrick's Day lands on March 17th. Do you believe in luck? Are there things you do thinking they'll bring good luck or things you avoid because they're considered bad luck?

I believe in Good Faith

2. Forest-lime-sage-mint-olive-emerald...what's your favorite shade of green?

Not listed here but Kelly Green- it is actually my favorite color to wear- only third to pink and sky blue :)

3. In Ireland the meal on this day is often a hearty beef or lamb stew served with colcannon (mashed potato mixed with cabbage and leeks). In the US corned beef and cabbage is the more typical St. Patty's Day meal. Will you/did you mark the day with one of these dishes? Baked-fried-roasted-mashed...what's your favorite way to eat a potato?

I won't be making any of those dishes.  We are not Irish so never had that tradition.  My Mother In Law would make the Boiled Corned Beef Dinner once in awhile and Rob always looked forward to that. I guess some kind of "Doctored-Up Mashed Potato" would be my fave- for example, I throw a wheel of Boursin Cheese into our mashed potatoes nowadays because Eva goes crazy for them :)

4. What color of the rainbow best represents your personality/mood today? Tell us why.

Well...I am writing this on my lunch break on Monday and it has been a super gloomy day here...but Black is not in the rainbow is it?  Ha :/

5. Which 'lucky' quote resonates with you. Elaborate.

'Luck is not something you can mention in the presence of self-made men.' E.B. White

'Diligence is the mother of good luck." Benjamin Franklin

'Luck is where opportunity meets preparation.' Seneca

'Shallow men believe in luck. Strong men believe in cause and effect.' Ralph Waldo Emerson

None of the above although that first quote is quite genius if you ask me...I love this one I found

6. Insert your own random thought here.

The only St. Patty's Tradition I have is a dinner out with the Fab Four- we started the tradition EIGHT years ago...so this year will be our 9th time..can't believe it has been that long! We are going out this Friday night and I have my kelly green shirt ready to go!  The collage has our first 7 years...then the 2nd picture is our 8th year...last year...stay tuned for #9!

What a fun tradition! Monday's weather was gloomy for sure. We good such bad storms Monday night and a crazy amount of trees down/ roads closed/ power outages to deal with after. I'm guessing our power won't be back until sometime tomorrow but hope we're lucky enough to get it back sooner.

I really wanted to drink a green beer yesterday, but it was so dang cold. I love that you have that tradition. Our Irish restaurant has an outdoor tent party that would have been fun. Instead I stayed at home, ate the Irish meal with Tom and read my book!

I really like that green! I didn't realise there were many shades until this week.
That mashed potato looks so good!
Oh no! I hope the weather has brightened up for you now.
The tradition of dinner with your friends sounds wonderful! Have a great time!

I love the 'good faith' saying. We have had some gray days here lately, but no more snow thankfully. Lots of rain which is gloomy, but the sun peeked out yesterday and that helps. It's amazing what a little sun can do for my mood. Have fun with your girlfriends this weekend!

So many greens are pretty colors! I love the pictures with your friend group. That Denzel Washington quote is great. Hope it is a sunnier day for you today!
