Hi Friends! I am joining the ladies of Share Our Lives HERE for their fun linkup. This month we are sharing our creative outlets and what we do in our spare time...so here we go
Walking
So this is one of my favorite things to do in my spare time. If you have been reading for awhile, then you know I have fallen in love with a nearby rail trail, over the last year. I also love walking in our neighborhood. Years ago, when we lived on the other side of town, I would frequent Griffin Park. Now, I live for the rail trail and have kept walking there all year, even in the snow and ice. There is something about it there that brings me peace while getting exercise at the same time.
I love the way we all share our books in this community...that is where I get most of my reading recommendations, however, I have been part of a book club in town for the last 7 years and my girls always have great suggestions too. What I love about being in book club is that it forces me to read some books that I never would've chosen for myself. Our book club was also our answer to keeping a great group of ladies together after we all graduated from PTA in town. For a few years, my goal was reading two books per month. My goal this year and maybe even next year is to only read 1 book per month due to working two jobs and helping Diana through the college process. I need to be realistic and still enjoy it as it is one of the ways I decompress.
Cooking
I consider this a necessity in our household but also one of my creative outlets. When I have extra time on the weekends and if we have no other dinner plans, I like planning a creative meal and taking my time in the kitchen. It is actually relaxing. As I always say, too, I show my love with food. I love to feed people...it is my jam
Blogging
I consider this another creative outlet and one of the ways I use my writing degree. What an awesome community this is. I have met so many wonderful women from all over the world through blogging and despite a heckler or two, the people I have met have been just so supportive. A couple of hecklers, over my 18 years of blogging, is nothing right?! Ha!
Last, but not least, my favorite way to spend my spare time is with my people- nuff said

Oh yes, I have seen the rail trail and it looks a lovely place to walk. I imagine it changes so much as the seasons change.
All of your meals look so good!
I have made some amazing friends through blogging and everyone is so supportive. I can't imagine a life without blogging.
I'm rather jealous your rail trail is paved; we so rarely walk our rail trails since they are large gravel paths that aren't always easy to walk on. This is such a wonderful list of favorites! I've only recently started getting heckling comments and I too figure that after 13 years that's not a bad track record.
Ah, the rail trail! I love that you love your rail trail as much as I love my path :)
Enjoyed reading about your creative outlets! So glad that blogging is among your favorites because if you didn't do it, then I wouldn't "know" you!!
Holly, we have so much in common with our spare time. I too love walking, reading books, and cooking dinner for my family.
You do such an awesome job getting your steps in ! The Rail Trail looks perfect. We have an arboretum nearby and a very walkable neighborhood, so I don't take that for granted. The food you make always looks so amazing! Sometimes, I'm just feeding my kids pancakes for dinner, and they call it my lazy dinner. haha
Thanks for linking up with us!
