Hi Friends! Thought I would share this easy and fun recipe with you today.
I have always been a big fan of hummus but the more I learn about clean eating, the more I want to make things from scratch and not just buy everything at the grocery store- too much sodium often times as well as preservatives....
Anyway, I digress. I played around with some ingredients and found the perfect recipe for me. You can use it as a main dish or an appetizer/side.
I enjoyed a few lunches from a recent batch and Rob got a snack out of the same batch too!
I threw all of the ingredients into my blender and it was SO EASY...you can make this in a food processor but I don't like the hassle or mess quite honestly!
Here is what you need...
Ingredients
2–4 tablespoons cold water, or more if needed
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
3/4 teaspoon fine sea salt
2 medium cloves garlic, peeled and smashed
1 (15 ounce) can chickpeas, rinsed and drained
Instructions
Add in the chickpeas. Puree for 3-4 minutes, pausing halfway to scrape down the sides of the bowl, until the hummus is smooth. If it seems too thick, add in another tablespoon or two of water.
Taste and season with additional salt, cumin, and/or lemon juice if needed.
Serve immediately, garnished with your desired toppings. Or transfer to a sealed container and refrigerate for up to 3 days.

Well, that seems like an easy recipe to make at home instead of buying at the store. Thanks for sharing!! Have a super day!
That sounds delicious! I think we've made hummus once... and I'm not sure we never made it again. Thanks for sharing your recipe with us at Encouraging Hearts and Home. Pinned.
I love homemade hummus! I need to make it more often but I get lazy and just pick up store bought (which is not as good).
We need to start making homemade hummus. We never get through a whole container and both Sam and I LOVE it! Putting tahini on the grocery list...
