Thankful Thursday

Hi Friends.  Today I am joining Jennifer for her Thankful Thursday linkup and sharing some things I have been grateful for recently...sometimes when life is challenging...and you are tired ...and still fighting to have hope...it is a great exercise to stop and think about the things you are grateful for.  As hard as it may be to feel grateful sometimes...it is a healthy practice that can truly bring you JOY

So here it goes...

Taxes

That they are over...ha...and that we don't owe too too much....even though I was hoping for a refund...I have to be grateful that the number is doable this year

Work

Although I am working with some really tough clients right now and have nothing to show for it yet, I am grateful that I am so busy and that these organizations are trusting me to find their talent.  I know I will be more grateful once I make a few more placements...keep reminding myself that I am happiest when I don't have a moment to breathe

My Girls

When my girls are happy or when they are doing what they love, that makes me happy....and I am so grateful that I get to witness their joy and as I always say, I am grateful I get to raise these two humans....it is a true privilege

Weather

Longer Days- More Sun- No More Snow- from my lips to God's ears- just can't wait for it to be consistently in the 60's and 70's :)

My Village

I would be lost if I didn't have my family and friends to vent to- to raise kids together with- to decompress with- to make me feel like I am not alone and not crazy- it is a true blessing that I never take for granted

My Hubby

Best teammate ever- thankful that I don't have to do the tough stuff alone

Our Thankful List 2020

I love talking about what we are thankful for.  One of my goals in life is to teach my girls how to appreciate and live in gratitude.

When you focus on what you have and what you have been blessed with and make a conscious effort to do so...you stop comparing yourself to others and you find a peace you didn't know existed....easier said than done...I know!

Back in 2008, I started making a conscious effort to do that...now with my girls....we are constantly reminding them of all of the gifts God has blessed us with....

We all added a few things to our Thankful list...love asking them for things over breakfast....the house is pure chaos...they are trying to eat their breakfasts and get ready for either the bus or logging on remotely and I sneak in one more thing before we all go off to school and work!

Here is what we are thankful for this year....a year when it is really important to focus on the positive...

Thankful Thursday: Friendship Edition

Patty and I are back with our monthly linkup "Thankful Thursdays." We would love for your to join in on the fun!  Just share what you are grateful for and link back up to us!  This month we chose one of my favorite topics...friendship!  Now you can share your gratitude associated with your friendships OR anything else you are thankful for!

Here goes nothing......

I have always treasured my friendships and now as a 40 something, I realize that people may come and go in your life but there are reasons they even cross your path and you need to look...pay attention...and be grateful for the gifts they brought or do bring to your life....it is all part of the plan....

I feel very blessed as a Suburban Housewife and Working Mom that I have the friendships I have now...they are the women who lift me up consistently...who are always there and who are an extension of my own family...because I don't have family close by, they step in, in a crisis or to help me with my kids or just when I need a shoulder to cry on....I am blessed

In addition, a couple of my besties are like the sisters I never have....talking every day...sharing laughs and advice and just being present

Other friends, I may not see that often but they are still my kindred spirits and when we get together we laugh and laugh and it is like no time has passed

and then I have others who I have met through my prayer groups and although they are new friendships, I am even more grateful and excited to see who else will be crossing my path!

and last but not least, I need to give props to my very best friend - my husband Rob.  Robby B- you bring out the best in me and I can never express the amount of gratitude in my heart to have you as my partner in life...you make it all beautiful

Friendship sustains me- yes it is much work- like any relationship but as one of my besties continuously tells me- water your garden- prune your garden- give to those who give to you - don't accept everything from everyone- make the deposits where they are fruitful and don't just drain you....she is so very wise

Who are you friends?  Your people?  I love my people- my tribe and I am just THANKFUL

Please share your gratitude and link up with us HERE

I am thankful that I get to get my girls on the bus- it is a luxury I do not take for granted

I am thankful that I can watch my girls grow and learn new things and get excited about school fun and activities like dance, hockey and soccer

and I am thankful that I will have more time this year to get things done...less noise...more focus...even though I will miss that little voice XO

Thankful Thursday: Our Fathers Edition

So it's time for another Thankful Thursday.  Please linkup with Patty
and Me!  If you have shared what you are thankful for this month, we would love to hear all about it!

This month we chose either Fatherhood OR the End of School...feel free to share on either topic OR choose your own!

I decided to share my gratitude for fathers

I will start with my Dad Pete

He is a Leo and my mom always jokes and calls him "Leo The Lion"....he likes to graze on meat the way lions do...he is a calming force until you get him all riled up!  Ha ha!  He has always been a wonderful provider and a lover of animals....and just the best Dad ever!  I am so grateful for the way he taught me work ethic...how to build friendships and how to just take care of business.

Next My Father In Law.  He and my Mother In Law (may she Rest In Peace) loved me unconditionally from Day 1.  He always made me feel part of the family and has always been there with a lending hand.  Once we had our girls, he became even more of a help and Eva, especially, gets to spend so much special time with him.  I am forever grateful

Last, but not least, one of the best Dads I have ever met-  My husband Rob.  I met Rob when he was a Single Dad and I could not get over how much he did for his kids...and all alone...I still get a lump in my throat when I remember the creative meals he would put together or how nothing brought him more joy then spending every night at the baseball and softball fields.  When we had our girls together, he became a complete rock star in my eyes.  I suffered from postpartum but really didn't let on to anyone- I was too ashamed and just buried myself in work (what else is new)...the only time I wasn't in a state of panic, both times, was when my hubby was around showing me how its done.  My girls both have special relationships with him because of this AND I am forever grateful that God brought us together- he is truly my soulmate

There ya have it!  The three most important Dads in my life and so grateful for them!
