Hi Friends and Happy Friday! I am giddy because it is Homecoming Weekend here...there are lots of festivities on tap tomorrow...will be back here on Monday to recap it all!
Until then, sharing a few faves from our week....
Date Night
We scooted out at the last minute on Wednesday night and headed to Figaro's in town. We had a cocktail and a few apps- it was delish and much needed!
A Moment That Stops You In Your Tracks
Getting this invite- wow! We are Here
Wrestling With Remi
We are convinced that Remi still thinks Eva is a dog. Anytime she is on the floor...horsing around...he thinks it is time to wrestle and fight and he goes absolutely crazy...it's hysterical
Sushi
Always a good idea
Cheer Comedy Night
We had our annual fundraiser last night and I am so glad it was a success. It could've been rough friends...given that we lost half of our team and our original coach but the troops rallied and we had a full house...lots of tickets sold...lots of raffles to bid on...it was a great night and we were able to raise enough funds for the girls to have some resources through the winter season...mission accomplished!
Hi Friends and Happy Wednesday! I am joining Joyce for her fun linkup...let's answer these thought provoking questions...
1. What do you like most about your family?
The unconditional love we all provide each other
2. What's something nice that's happened to you recently?
I had an HR professional write a really deep piece on Linked In about some folks who made an impact on her professionally. She mentioned me in the post and tagged me. She gave me credit for making a difference and she expressed gratitude- the greatest gift. I placed her when she was an entry level Comp professional and she has now hit the pinnacle in HR- Head of HR/Chief People Officer. It was honestly one of the most challenging placements in my career and I can tell you that it was so worth it. I learned so much and grew an amazing relationship with her. She has come back to me with business and I made a few placements with her at her most recent organization while at Willmott :)
3. Do you like the color orange? Besides a pumpkin and an actual orange, what's something orange you love?
I do...I started a "love affair" with orange over the last few years....loving orange clothing and of course, an Aperol spritz ;)
4.
What's something you have now you couldn't have imagined having five
years ago? How does that make you feel? What's possible now because of
it?
A dog! It wasn't in our plans but COVID changed a lot...cannot imagine our lives without Remi...he is "my son" as everyone knows..."my baby boy" and he brings so much joy to our home! :)
5. Let's wrap this one up with an October this or that...
Pumpkin bread or apple cider donut - Pumpkin Bread
Cozy sweater or cozy hoodie- Cozy Hoodie- recent choice- years ago it would've been a sweater but I am so into all of the stylish sweats nowadays
Apple picking or pumpkin picking- Apple Picking
Scary movie or Hallmark movie- Hallmark movie :)
Hay ride or corn maze- Hay ride- too claustrophobic for a corn maze-eek!
Twinkle lights or candles- candles- for the glow AND the smell
Autumn hike or autumn bonfire- I guess bonfire- I like hikes/walks all year long
6. Insert your own random thought here.
Homecoming is this weekend...we have worked hard on the garage to make it just right...now I have cooking to do (mostly for the parents) and the finishing decorating touches...I am looking forward to seeing Diana's happiness :)
Hi Friends and Happy Monday! I am here with Sarah and we are chatting about our weekends. Hope you will join us!
Here is what our little weekend in New England looked like....
I will start with Friday as Pidge had her "Monster Bash" at school where they get to carve pumpkins and have some fall fun...thank goodness for friends who are there to snap some pics :)
She decided to be funny and carve I Love 6 7 in her pumpkin- she is the cutest! :) Not to get too sappy but this was our last Monster Bash :(
Friday Night
All about the FNL my friends...dinner at the same cheesy Chinese Restaurant we went to last year with some of my favorite Mamas
Then the FNL fun....awesome cheerleaders (with a fabulous new coach who is here to save the season)....and another blowout...Go Jags!!!
Final Score 28-0! Pure shutout!
Saturday
I got to sleep in- yeah!! I have been fighting a cold so the rest felt great! Rob took the cars (in shifts) to get the inspections done...Eva chatted with friends and Diana and I grabbed tea and coffee out then headed home. I watched a few more episodes of Gilmore Girls then the girls came to the grocery store with me so I could grab a few things for dinner.
That night they both had plans! Diana and Cat headed out on a double date then to a Halloween party...they dressed as Subway Surfers- they nailed it
and Eva headed to Screemfest with some friends and had a blast :)
So...we were empty nesters and I whipped us up a special dinner- filets with a horseradish crust, scalloped potato cups, maple glazed brussel sprouts, salad and rolls...and grabbed some yummy desserts for us to try too. We were stuffed! It felt good to catch up and chat about various things. (it did look like I was feeding an army, as always, but Robby B is very pleased to have lots of leftovers this week)
After dinner, Rob cleaned up and I started gluing together Diana's senior cheer collage since the big game is in two weeks.
Then we watched "The Perfect Neighbor" on Netflix. Wow- such a scary and sad documentary about a murder that happened in Florida in 2023. It is told through the lens of police body cams and just awful.
The girls came home late with their dates and hung out for awhile AND they came upstairs to tell me their great news...this is the great news I was waiting for this week...they snagged their HOCO dates for next weekend...nothing like last minute right? They are so excited and happy so I am happy for them- I think they will have a blast
Sunday
We got to sleep in a little bit then I ran to the store to grab some things to make a big breakfast for the girls...Cat slept over and they were starving.
Then Rob, Papa, Eva and I took off for her hockey game up on the North Shore of MA at the Pingree School- beautiful campus and great rink- another loss but they are getting better and better
On the way home, I had to snap a pic or two but the pics don't do the beautiful foliage any justice
When we got home, I whipped us up a Sunday pasta dinner
Then I got blogging while Rob and his Dad cut down a tree in the yard that has just become a nuisance
Tree before...
Tree After (before the cleanup)
Last night, I relaxed with some more Gilmore Girls....Diana worked...Eva chilled and Rob and his dad did the cleanup after cutting the tree done. It was a wonderful fall weekend! What were you all up to?
