Wednesday Hodgepodge

From this Side of the Pond

Hi Friends and Happy Wednesday!  I am joining Joyce for her fun weekly linkup.  Let's answer her fun questions...

1. What's something recent that had you 'tickled pink'?

Seeing Eva shine on stage...and she happened to be in pink :)

2. A bed of roses, everything's coming up roses, every rose has it's thorn, stop and smell the roses, rose-colored glasses, a rose among thorns...which rosy expression might currently be applied to your life in some way?

I guess "Stop And Smell The Roses" and I go back to my word for the year JOY.  I am remembering to find JOY in the every day and not taking things for granted so this phrase goes along with that theme.  It reminds us to stop and smell the roses or stop and enjoy the little things in your days.

3. What makes you feel loved and appreciated?

Word of affirmation- cards- thoughtful notes and/or emails...let me share an excerpt from a recent email with you that I received from a blog reader.  It brought me to tears and I will cherish it forever....

"I want to thank you again for taking the time to send the links for the morning devotional materials .   I love them all so much…..they were great additions to what I already have.  The Sacred Space and Mornings with Jesus are just beyond perfect .  Then again, Living Faith and Total Consecration really speak to my heart .  Also, what Catholic doesn’t love to get their hands on any and all the St Jude and St Anthony materials available ?   Those 2 saints have saved me more times than I can count.  You have enriched my prayer life and each morning I will say a prayer for you and your beautiful family .  Thank you so very much !

You are an inspiration to many!  I so admire how you keep things real yet always hang on to your faith.  Your daughters are blessed to have such a strong, capable and fun mom who also lives a Christ centered life.   You have ,and continue to, provide them with a strong foundation for success and the tools they will need  to have a fulfilled life..."

4. A box of chocolates or a bouquet of fresh flowers-what's your pleasure? Any special plans for Valentine's Day?

Both?  Ha!  If I had to pick one, I would say flowers...the photo above contains my faves: White Lilies- Blue Hydrangeas and Roses...we are eating in on Valentine's...grabbing some takeout and just chillin'

5. Share a favorite quote, scripture, or song lyric relating to love.

Here are three scriptures that capture it all...

  • 1 John 4:8: "Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love".
  • 1 John 4:7: "Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God".
  • 1 John 4:16: "So we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them".
  •

    6. Insert your own random thought here.

Have you tried the professional caricature trend yet? Here is mine...in my recruiting glory ;)

Great picture of Eva on stage! And what sweet comments from readers. Tis true, everything the notes comments said. The blogs that I enjoy reading such as yours share snippets of life that sometimes includes the hard as well as the joys. Being real is the best way to be in real life and online, in my opinion! Have a great day!

That vase of flowers contains nearly all my favorites too! I am always a sucker for a blue and white color scheme. Love that photo of Eva on stage! I think you do a great job stopping to smell the roses and noticing those little moments and things that make one grateful for life and love and family.
