Hi Friends and Happy Monday! Did you Olympic and Super Bowl all weekend? Hope you are all feeling great! I am ready to get a new week started...how about you? As always, I am here with blogging partner Sarah and we are chatting about our weekends. If you did too, linkup with us below!
Here is what our cozy little weekend looked like here in New England.
Friday Night
I got the girls a pizza and then I got dressed up a bit and met Rob at Capital Grille in the next town over for date night! He won a gift card for an office contest so it was the perfect excuse. We had a great time catching up on our work weeks and in the interest of keeping the cost and calories down, we split a salad, a steak and some potatoes and each had a glass of great wine. It was perfect and we left stuffed and happy we had a nice free night out!
When we got home, we all (minus Diana who was at a friend's house for a sleepover) piled in our bed to watch the Olympic opening ceremonies
To be honest, it wasn't one of our faves and we fell asleep pretty early.
Saturday
It was a nice lazy and slow morning...which was unexpected. We got more snow than was predicted and the Accepted Students Day at Merrimack, that we were going to, was postponed until next weekend.
Rob went out to shovel and I stayed in bed and watched "You've Got Mail." (Who am I? Ha!)
When I finally made it downstairs, I made myself a coffee so I could try my new milk frother- I loved it! I am waiting on some protein powder to be delivered so I can start making protein coffees and have decided to alternate those with my teas. I also snacked on a new-to-me snack and I loved them. They are genius with 26g of fiber per bag. If you struggle with fiber intake, these are an easy way to get your daily grams in!
Later on, Rob, Papa and I, along with Eva headed to Billerica for her hockey game- hockey is never cancelled. It wasn't the best ride but we took it a little slow and it was ok. My bestie Janie and her hubby Lou met us there- they have been dying to see Eva play hockey.
It was a rough game- oh well! We were happy we had our besties there with us though
That night, Rob headed out to a gig, Diana worked and Eva and I crashed at home. We ate leftovers and she watched one of her shows while I rented "The Housemaid." I was a big fan of the books and I am a big fan of Frieda McFadden. I was also impressed with the movie and how close to the first book it was- wow!
Sunday
I was up at the crack of dawn and got to the gym by 6am. So Sundays apparently aren't as busy as weekdays...Exhibit A...I was the first one there and the only heart rate monitor on the board- that never happens! Had to snap a shot ;)
After that, I raced home to make a tea then met the fam at Eva's hockey game.
It was another loss but what a battle AND Eva scored one of two goals. Was so proud of her!
After the game, I enjoyed a long and hot shower- felt luxurious. Then Diana and I took a drive to Starbucks to catch up.
After that, I did the meal planning and grocery list and gave it to Rob to handle for the day. Then I met his dad at mass.
Then I got organized for the week, did some blogging and reading and worked more on Diana's Graduation Video- getting help from Amber of course with this special project :)
We capped off the weekend with the superbowl and some fun snacks
It was a crushing loss but can't wait to see them next season!
What were you all up to?

Congrats to Eva for scoring a goal! And to have special guests come and see her play. Your date looked really good- you guys looks great and what a good idea to split a meal. Won't it be nice when snow will not impact weekend plans?? Have a great Monday!
Great weekend! We have a Capitol Grille and people rave about it. So pricey! I wish I won a gift card! I didn't read Housemaid but it was good. You had a full weekend! Good job on the scoring of goals!
The photo of you and your hubby on date night is adorable! Looks like you had a lovely time. We had the Olympics on all weekend and we thought the opening ceremony was just "okay". I'm most excited for the ice skating to come. Have a great week!
It sounds like a great weekend, despite all the snow.
How nice that you and your husband went out to dinner and the food looked great. I went to the movies to see house maid and loved it too. It sounds like you had a great weekend. I hope you have a nice week Holly.
Nope, no sports of any kind here this weekend. We had lots of snow on Saturday so after getting groceries my husband and I drove Evan to work then we pretty much spent the rest of the weekend snuggled up watching TV, reading, and I made a handful of cards while I played with some new products.
Thanks friend! YES! Cannot wait for warmer temps and more outdoor time!
Very pricey like so many higher end steak houses- very happy he won that gift card ;)
Me too Laura! That's my favorite part of the winter olympics :)
Yes- trying not think about the white stuff ;)
You too Julie-thank you!
It was the perfect weekend to be cozy for sure
Oh yes! I watched a lot of the Olympics and some of the adverts and trailers that were on during the Super Bowl!
It sounds like a lovely Friday evening out and what a bonus it was free. The protein coffees sound interesting and I still need to see The Housemaid! My eldest went to the cinema and said it was fantastic!
What a fun weekend!
Congrats to Eva for scoring a goal! My husband watched the Superbowl game but I caught up on e-mail instead. With the Broncos not there my heart wasn't in it!
The Housemaid was creepy and scary just like the book!
I totally get that Pat!
