2. Do you like squash? Of the varieties listed, which one's your favorite and how do you like it prepared? Is squash of some sort on your Thanksgiving menu??
acorn, butternut, delicata, spaghetti, zucchini, crookneck (yellow squash), patty pan
Yes I like squash...all kinds...Zucchini would be my fave...I like it chopped into rectangular pieces and cooked in the air fryer with Everything But The Bagel Seasoning...it is a great side dish!
Mashed Butternut Squash is on our Thanksgiving Menu as always
3. Last time you were 'squashed in' somewhere, or felt squashed?
I am claustrophobic so I avoid those situations like the plague so I really can't remember!
4. Have you ever played squash? What about other 'racquet sports' such as racquetball, tennis, pickleball, badminton, table tennis (ping pong)?
Nope...sorry
5. Something in today's society or culture that feels like a 'racket' to you? If you don't like that one, tell us about a place you've been recently where there was a lot of 'racket'.
This whole college thing...a real racket because no matter where you apply and where you go...the costs ended up being about the same...truly...the state schools have affordable tuition but don't give a lot of aid...so many of the private schools are SO expensive but then they throw a lot of aid your way...I think they are all in cahoots...ha!

That is true about colleges- plus as I mentioned in my answer, the cost has gone up in both types- state and private due to the availability of government backed loans. Your home is so pretty and I like how far back it sits. I could see enjoying the view a lot. Have a great day!
I think they are too! LOL. It's so true about total cost though. Evan's first financial aid package came through and yep it's about exactly the same as what we're paying for Alec's college...
You totally get it! :) Thank you Maria
I rest my case- ha! :)
Your house is lovely! A big front yard is so nice! That zucchini looks so good. I never think to cut it that way.
Oh, the college racket. I always told my students they would love any college they picked. It's college! You have to make the best financial decision!
So true about colleges, my oldest 2 are through college thank goodness, but the crap they make you take (yoga??) and pay for is ridiculous.
I think we'll see some changes in university costs etc in the future. It's not sustainable. You have a great front yard and it reminds me of my yard in NJ. I loved sitting on the front porch there too. I also love time in the kitchen and around the table especially. It feels like the heart of the home. Have a great day!
Your home sounds wonderful! I would love a front yard like yours. It is beautiful!
It is expensive over here to go to university too. People get into debt just to get educated and do better for themselves which seems wrong.
Thank you Amy! Seriously- it is a big decision!
Right? Crazy!
I agree with the kitchen being the heart of the home! I hope you are right about college costs
Thank you Kim! Such a shame that it costs so much for education
Lots of people said college is a racket on these posts and I agree!
Love your home! Our three kids are all through school now - two went to state schools and the third went to a very pricey private school. Between scholarships and aid, his tuition was the cheapest by far!!!! You are 100% correct - it's a crazy racquet but it"s also a bit of a game and if you play it well, it can work out! Best of luck!
I love your answer to #1, and I love your house! It always looks so cozy and inviting!
Oh college is a racket! We are getting into it now too and it is a complete racket. I love your yard, too!
What a great saying at the end! You are spot on about the college tuition too! I love your answer of the front porch. Hope your week is going well!
Yup!
So funny Maureen- I rest my case!
Aww thank you Maddie :)
Sending you strength friend :) Thank you!
Thank you Marilyn- wishing you a fabulous week and weekend!
Your home is lovely and I can certainly understand why the front yard would be your favorite. My son went to a private college and benefited from scholarships, but I still paid out a lot as well. Our daughter went to a state college and it ended up being about the same amount. She lived at home which helped. That was over 30 years ago, so much has changed.
It is a huge expense yes!
