Hi Friends and Happy Monday! As always, I am here with Sarah and we are chatting about our weekends. Hope you will join us!
I am taking today to recap Blackout 2025!
We started at the School Board Meeting on Tuesday Night September 16th. We spoke about Blackout and the monies we have raised over the last several years and then we presented the School Board with their shirts.
On Sunday September 21st, we officially kicked off Blackout Week 2025 with our Pediatric Cancer Flag Raising Ceremony at Letizio Tower in Town.
Then...time to grab the mums!
Monday, September 22nd was the Blackout Tee Shirt Pick Up at WHS. We were there from 2pm-8pm...so tiring but so worth it!
Then...a surprise for me from the town's Rec Director....it is everywhere!
Tuesday, September 23rd meant the Varsity Girls Soccer Blackout Game and then Shirt Pickup and Raffles at Common Man
Wednesday, September 24th meant selling leftover shirts to students at the WHS lunches.
Then it was time for the Varsity Field Hockey Blackout Game...
Setting Up at Red's Blackout Ladies Trivia Night...
and then the Girls Varsity Volleyball Blackout Game
The Varsity Boys Soccer Team had a Team Dinner and made a Blackout Banner- check out the pics they sent us :)
Thursday Night was time to set up the Honored Children's Banners. (The Varsity Boys Soccer Blackout Game was rained out and rescheduled)
Friday was the BIG DAY
One of my favorite parts of Blackout is that you spot shirts around town all day AND peeps send me pics all day too....enjoy...
Our customary lunch at Red's and spotting a few more...
and now time to get to work...at the field...
and still getting more pics...
and the food vendors started to arrive...
Let The Games Begin...
Recognizing Our Honored Families at Half Time
It was epic....best yet in my opinion...can't wait to see the numbers but happy with the most ever sponsors...the most volunteers and the most student involvement...my heart is full...the rest of the weekend was rest in between hockey and softball games. What were you all up to?

Sounds like the city really rallied behind this project for such a great cause. I know the families affected by this are so thankful. I can imagine what a full heart you must have after this weekend!
Great pictures from your weekend! How wonderful that this year exceeded all other years in terms of volunteers and sponsors. Good job in making this happen. Hope your Monday is a great one!

Wow! Looks like you had great weather, too! I am sure you need a nice long nap now!
It's wonderful the way the town seems to really get behind this and support all the fundraising efforts. Looks like a great success! And I know it was a lot of work on your part so well done!

It is just amazing how the whole community is involved and the shirts/theme are everywhere!
What a sweet and emotional post! Our church family lost a very special little member and friend to pediatric cancer this past year, just a few months after his fourth birthday. It's an experience no family should ever have to go through, so its amazing that your community is so loving and supportive to these families! This is very near and dear to my heart, you all did so much work and such a good cause! I'm so glad it was a success :)
What an amazing thing y'all do with the blackout. That is awesome!
