Hi Friends and Happy Monday! I am here with my blogging partner Sarah and we are chatting about our weekends. Hope you will join us!
Here is what ours looked like...
Friday
Diana and I were off first thing to NYC for a very special moment we have waited for...for years! We headed to the big apple to see Smash! This was our favorite show...the one we binged several times...got us through COVID and life...when we heard they were making a Broadway show out of it, we knew we had to be first in line! Well life happens...COVID delayed the opening and the economy didn't cooperate...you know the drill...and then it opened and it hasn't been doing well...and right after the Tonys they announced the show would be closing (yesterday) so I bit the bullet and scored us tickets for the show on Friday night. We wanted to be the first two in the theater when the show opened but it turned out we were two of the last people to see it and so glad we did. We will remember it forever. This moment in time was amazing...breathtaking...emotional (many tears shed) and a once in a lifetime moment...
First things first...lunch in the city was a slice of pizza near our hotel at a hole in the wall...sometimes the best places
Meanwhile...at home...Eva and Cora were making it happen ;)
We walked around a bit and then got checked in and got ready for our night on the town
Once we were ready...we had to have a photo shoot for the IG ;)
We enjoyed a yummy dinner at Trattoria D'Arte in Times Square near our hotel
I had the shrimp scampi- delish
and Diana had the spaghetti and meatballs- she loved it
We were stuffed!
and then we hit our show which was at The Imperial Theater...again not far from our hotel
Wish I could've snapped photos and videos so you could see this amazement but trust me...this show shouldn't be closing...simply breathtaking...and I will never forget this or the time with my girl
Smash is about "Bombshell" ...the making of a Marilyn Monroe musical....so many funny behind the scenes moments and it brought us back to our theater and dance days...we were watching the choreography...the directing...and all of the drama that goes with that...outstanding
After the show....we crashed hard
Saturday
We got home early...freshened up and headed over to the Fournier's for Alexis' grad party
I love all of the sentimental touches that Cass did...it was a wonderful celebration
Sunday
I made us a family breakfast and we enjoyed a slow morning together...catching up...eating sheet pan pancakes (thank you Pinterest) and watching the Dateline special on Karen Read of course ;)
While we were in NYC, Eva and Rob started the weekend off with lots of softball as it was the state tournament. She and her team did very well so I was able to catch all three games yesterday- 12, 4 and the championship game at 6! They couldn't beat Londonderry but they came in 2nd...we were so proud of our runner ups! It was so hot and sunny all day...I was in my happy place...outside...FINALLY :)
A whirlwind of a weekend but one of the best! What were you all up to?

Enjoyed reading about your fun weekend! It looks like a great time in NYC- yah for finally getting to see the show. I'll bet it was fantastic and you two look gorgeous! The grad party looks fun and how great did Eva's softball team do. Have a wonderful Monday!
I haven't been to the city in a while, but your post makes me want to go. I didn't know they'd turned SMASH into a Broadway show. I loved the tv series and was sad when it ended. My hubs and I saw Katherine McPhee with her husband David Foster here about a year ago and they were so good. Congrats to the softball teams and happy summer!
I love how quickly you can get to NYC! I haven't heard of that show so it's good to know about it. Enjoy your day!
You definitely had a whirlwind weekend and it looks like it was a memorable one in so many ways... fun in NYC, a special grad party and a championship game! How wonderful!
What a fabulous weekend! I loved the show Smash. LOVED it. I'm a big fan of Katherine McPhee and Megan Hilty...is that her name?? I think it would be so much fun to live close enough to NYC to do this kind of thing. So glad you girls enjoyed your time together and that you still had time to come home and "weekend" with your people. I hope your day is great, my friend! xoxo
Looks like such a great time! I really want to go back to NYC! Glad y'all had a fun time there!
Your NYC trip brought back many memories for me, as we often attended Broadway shows and plays when we lived in NYC. Smash sounds wonderful! Congrats to Eva's softball team!
What a fabulous weekend! That trip to NYC sounds amazing. We had a graduation party this weekend too.
