 Loved

 

My in-laws' anniversary was yesterday...and my mother-in-law passed away a few years ago...Rob called me to tell me that a cardinal was following him all the way to work and just as he called me, I walked into Revitalize and spotted these napkins (her song)...Grammy is with us...reminding us of the love...always...

 Learned

 

 That I actually love sales and I am kinda good at it...in my day job (recruiting)...in my 2nd job (real estate) and the work I do with a non-profit..relationships are paramount and more people want to do business than I give myself credit for...I have to remember that if I do what I know is right..the rest will fall into place...and to practice what I preach which is, "work hard- be humble-be kind"

 

 

 

 Went Well

 

A recent placement with a prestigious higher ed institution...gave me hope again...my first home sale...got me even more excited about this side gig...and new sponsorships I secured for Blackout...all about making the connections and under promising while over delivering :)

 

 

Let Go Of

 

 

 

 

 Lots of emails!  Cleaning up and getting organized with my personal email as well as my real estate email accounts and it feels great!

Monthly Musings: May 2025

 

Hi Friends!  I am here with Patty for our monthly linkup where we answer different and fun questions.  This month we are talking about how we Kick Off Summer...woohoo!  We are answering the questions below...

 

 So let's get to it!

 

1. What are you looking forward to most this summer?

 

Time with my girls....can't believe Diana will be going into her senior year this fall...enjoying every moment together...as always

 

 

2. Any favorite summer traditions?

 

Watching our town fireworks with friends- going to the beach- our Annual Mommy Daughter Boogie Boarding Day- going to Tom and Laurel's Lake House for 4th of July Weekend

 

 

 

3. Any summer travel plans?  Please dish!

 

 Not outside of the lake over the 4th- it will be another simple summer in these parts but this is one of our favorite weekends all year!!

 

 

4. How do you red, white and blue?

 

 Oh just LOVE red, white and blue and anything patriotic- I try to tie it all in with decor around the house...plants outside and fashion of course

 

 

 

5. Beach, Lake or Pool?

 

 All three please!  If I was forced to pick, I would always pick the beach...at the ocean of course :)

 

 

6. Favorite Summer Sweet Treat?

 

 Ice cream or gelato and of course, my "crack bars" which have become a favorite sweet treat around here

 

 

7. Favorite Sunscreens and Self-Tanners?

 

 I like Banana Boat sunscreen products because they smell like summer to me...banana'y and coconut'y and just perfect!  For self-tanners, I use my tried and true Quicktan spray that I buy on Amazon

 

 

 

8.  Best flip-flops or sandals?

 

 My fave pair of all time...still going...I take care of them because they are not available anymore and I LOVE them so much!  Reefs...black crystal...

 

 

 

 

9. How are you staying fit this summer?

 

 The Rail Trail of course...and some gym classes mixed in too

 

 

10. Favorite summer-themed movies? 

 Vacation- Shag- Jaws

What I'm Reminiscing About

 

Well....the flower mystery has been solved...9 months to the day!  HA!  I know no one really cares except for me...so happy to finally know but scratching my head...I should follow Diana's lead because she doesn't care...but anyway...I digress...reminiscing about that past relationship that lead to the flowers and chuckling to myself...sweet gesture and all but I crack up at the way teenage boys think..I really do...I could use a class to understand ;)

 What We've Been Up To 

 

We had a great visit to South Carolina during spring break where we toured Univ of South Carolina and Coastal Carolina Univ, had some nice family time and a surprise visit with besties complete with some fantastic beach time and a Cinco de Mayo celebration

 

 

 

 

 Someone got her braces off!

 

 

Mama sold her first house!

 

There have been several walks on the rail trail

 as well as Karen Read coverage

Mama enjoyed Book Club at Dawna's- we read The Crash by Frieda McFadden

 

Eva loved getting together with besties then heading to their first ever school dance!

 

and Diana had a special day in Boston w/ her besties complete with a sleepover at our house

while Eva was at a hockey tournament with one of her new teams...sporting her tutu ;)

 

 

We celebrated Mother's Day!

There has been more rail trail...

Eva enjoyed a birthday party at an ice cream museum!

 

We had an awesome team lunch as we sent Kelly off to the Carolinas

Mama hosted wine group

We did our planting

We loved seeing Lex and other family friends all decked out for senior prom!

 

We are loving softball season...especially when we get to compete against a hockey bestie

 

 

Mama enjoyed a real estate event complete with tacos and margs

 

 and Diana made us so proud as she braved the stage again at the WHS Choir Concert and wow'd us with her solo

 and we celebrated Memorial Day Weekend with our family and friends...it was a great one!

 

 

 What I'm Dreading

 

Looking forward to AND dreading at the same time...if that's possible...graduation...my goddaughter and other family friends are graduating from WHS in a few short weeks and it still feels, sometimes, like they are babies :/

 

 What I'm Working On

 

Recruiting- Real Estate- Managing Our Home- Blackout- The "UJ"

 

 

 What I'm Excited About

 

Summer...The Beach...Riding with the Top Down..seeing who the next Cheer Coach will be at WHS!  :)

 

 

 What I'm Watching/Reading

 

Karen Read- real coverage and parodies on YouTube and Tiktok- this woman nails the judge- click the link to enjoy- ha!

 and my book for May was Meet Me In The Penalty Box by Cali Melle...

 

It was a trashy novel...perfect time of year for it...ha!  Quick read and did enjoy that the story revolved around hockey

 

 

What I'm Listening To

 

Diana's Junior Year Playlist...with some of our faves...Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Arianna Grande, Morgan Wallen and more...eclectic mix yes...

 

 

 What I'm Wearing

 

The usual mix of business attire- workout clothes and cute outfits for nights and weekends out...like these...

 

 

 

 What I'm Doing This Weekend

 

Taking Diana and her Besties to a concert Friday night...just dropping off..not staying...then we have softball and the strawberry festival and I have some real estate work to do...and whatever else may come up... 

What I'm Looking Forward To Next Month

 

 

Graduation and all of the celebrations and hopefully our first trip to the beach this year!
