Hi Friends! We are back after a lovely little weekend in Palm Beach Florida.....it felt therapeutic to travel again...to find the sun...the warmth...the ocean...and we shared precious QT as a family and with some of our besties.....
Here is what it looked like.....
Thursday
We had to get up at 2:30am! We were getting picked up at 3:30am so we were up before the sun! It was a smooth ride to the airport and a very smooth process at Boston Logan Airport.
When we landed in Fort Lauderdale, FL, that is when it got more tricky and tiring. It took 40 minutes for our bags to come out...then we had to wait in a long line for the shuttle to get to the car rental place...then once we got there, we had to wait in another long line to get our rental car- eek! We were surprised at how many people were traveling and guess we were at a popular place!
We decided to go with a Jeep since that is what I have settled on for a new car...we wanted to see how it drove and it didn't disappoint!
We then had a one hour drive to our hotel up in Palm Beach, FL.
Once we got there, it was another long line to get checked in BUT our room wasn't ready, SO we kept busy by heading to the outdoor bar and grill and grabbed some lunch and then hit the beach for a little swim!
We got to our room to around 4pm....and unpacked and got settled ....and then we were off to meet the Fourniers at a fun restaurant called Guanabanas...it did not disappoint...it was an outdoor tropical oasis with awesome food and drinks and it was fun catching up and spending time with our pals from home!
Check out Guanabanas HERE
Friday
We were up bright and early...Cass and I went for a power walk and then I grabbed a quick breakfast to go with my fam and we all headed over to the Fourniers place for the day...we enjoyed the beach....the pool....a fun lunch and a fun atmosphere complete with awesome 80's tunes!
This is where we stayed...really caters to time share owners and an older crowd but great place for us to stay for a few days...we had an ocean view room so shouldn't complain!
That afternoon, we crashed in our room for a bit and then freshened up and headed out for our big destination- The Breakers in West Palm Beach. Cass and I had been with friends a few years back but we wanted our families to see this majestic, historic landmark in person too. We all dressed in our Lillies and got some great pics....
We had a cocktail at the famous Seafood Bar and although we couldn't sit at the bar, I snagged a few pics.....
After that, we snapped a few pics on our way out and headed across the street to their steakhouse- Flagler Steakhouse!
The only pic I happened to capture was at the end of the night...Pidge...just wiped and sunburned!
Saturday
Cass and I were up bright and early today....we decided to make our walk a bit shorter and grab breakfast together at a cute little place called Longboat Johnie's...while there, we got to enjoy a Jeep show going passed us...my favorite was "The Grinch Jeep"....so fun...
Then it was pool time at our place on this day....
That night, we headed over to City Place in Palm Beach...it is a beautiful complex of outdoor shops and restaurants....we enjoyed dinner at Il Belaggio...
and the guys let Cass and I hit a bar to have one cocktail alone....the Fourniers were taking off that night and we needed to celebrate our sweet little escape...
and one last family selfie....
We headed back to our hotel to crash early because we needed to be up early for our flight home.
Sunday
It was a travel day...we were up at 4 and left our hotel by 4:30 to head back to the rental car place and airport....it was much quicker heading home.....
My snuggly girls on the plane...
When we got home, we headed to lunch with Papa Bob and Kayla and Marshall who did a great job spending time with Remi and house sitting....perfect ending to a perfect little getaway!

What a fun getaway! The places you ate dinner at look wonderful and you guys look so good all dressed up.
You fit lots of fun and sun in that four day weekend! I have heard that travel is very busy, and especially the rental car counters. My husband is flying to Atlanta to pick Grace up from college and renting a car at the airport. Hopefully he won't have to wait too long. My aunt was just at the Miami airport and said it was packed. We just booked a Hawaii trip for Christmas, and the flights were already 75% full! Wow! Thanks for linking up with Hello Monday! Tanya - The Other Side of the Road
