Wednesday Hodgepodge

Hi Friends and Happy Hodgepodge Day!  As always, linking up with Joyce and answering her fun questions so let's get to it...

1. What gives you energy? What takes it away?

Kids actually give me energy...they keep me busy and keep me young...despite the stressful times, they feed my soul

I would say that unappreciative folks and those who think status quo is ok..never trying to improve things, especially at work...those folks/things zap my energy...I try very hard to stay positive but sometimes it knocks me off my feet when you get nothing in return

2. How often do you shop for clothes? What accessory do you always wear?

I used to shop for clothes all year long but the last three years have been very challenging financially so now it is only during an occasional sale and usually only for my girls...as far as an accessory I always wear...I would have to say sunglasses- all year long!

3. What's something free that you feel grateful for?

Church...Concerts in the Park...The Rail Trail

4. Breakfast, lunch, dinner...which meal of the day do you enjoy most? What's your go-to comfort food?

I would say I enjoy dinner most as it is the time that I can take my time...I especially enjoy a dinner out on the weekends...with a nice glass of wine...since I cook so much, it is the one time I feel pampered.  My go-to comfort food would either be pizza or pasta...true Italian here ;)

5. This week the world remembers the tragic events of 9/11. Do you mark the day in any way? How do historical events shape your perspective on your personal challenges?

I always reflect on this day...it changed us forever...I am not sure I make a correlation with historical events and my own challenges quite honestly

6. Insert your own random thought here.

I am looking forward to our first home game this weekend and also decorating for fall...the spirit is real here!

Hello Monday (September 8, 2025)

Hi Friends and Happy Monday!  I am here with Sarah and we are talking about our weekends.  Hope you will link up with us!

Here is what our first fall weekend looked like....

Friday

Well..Rob brought Remi to the vet on Thursday as he had a rash...

it was hundreds of dollars to up his allergy meds and add an ointment....boo...but while there, when in a muzzle, he tried to take it off and unbeknownst to us, ended up scratching both of his eyes.  We thought his eyes were just squinty from being on a sedative...well Friday morning, he could barely open his eyes so Rob brought him to the emergency vet at 6:15am....three hours later...after sedatives and tests, we found out he scratched both eyes so he is on more meds and in a cone for a week....my heart is breaking

Friday Night

First...check it out...13 years ago wearing Zach's Senor Pin and now...this year...wearing Diana's...sometimes life is very surreal...this was one of those moments

Then...

 and now...

Yes!!!  It was time for our first FNL of Diana's Senior Year and it did not disappoint!  Though our team lost, they gave us hope.  They were not favored to win so I don't think we were expecting a win...it was just so great to be out with friends again and celebrating the kids that our kids have grown up with!  It was a magical night.

I met up with some football mamas to "pre game" and then we headed to the game together.  (That was after I fed Eva and her friends and after school). Rob brought the girls and his Dad to the game and my parents met us there.

We all cheered in the stands together.  We couldn't compete, though, with our amazing student body.  It was "neon night" and the kids did not disappoint.  The cheerleaders fed off their energy so we were really entertained

After the game, Lea and I were two of the last people roaming the parking lot because we could not find her car...nope...can't make this stuff up...laughed so hard and shook our heads...only us :/

 Saturday

Cass and I met up for breakfast so we could have one on one time to catch up...so good for the soul...our Jeeps agreed ;)

Rob and his Dad started painting the garage...Project Homecoming saw major progress this weekend!

I did some errands and then we started watching "The Baxters"- a cute series about a family on Prime.

Then it was time for Diana to head to work and we all headed down to the South Shore of Mass for Eva's first hockey game of the season- despite the loss, the team showed their potential and someone was named Captain for the first couple of games- Go Pidge!

#FearTheTutu ;)

We got home late...had some ice cream and crashed

Sunday

Rob and Eva were up very early and headed to softball practice for her club team

Diana and I slept in and then headed to Nutrition Corner for teas then came home and got cozy (yucky rainy day) and watched a documentary about kidfluencing- I forget the name but it creeped me out...anyway look how cute my boy is in his cone...poor bugger!

I then made us a pasta dinner...perfect for a rainy day and we watched more of the Baxters.  Then Rob and his dad finished painting the garage...the girls did their homework and had some fun on their own...I caught up on blogging and doing some real estate.

Last night, Diana had cheer practice and we snuggled up early with some more Friday Night Lights.

What were you all up to?
