Wednesday Hodgepodge

From this Side of the Pond

Hi Friends! It's time to answer Joyce's fun and thoughtful questions!  Let's get to it...

1. The midpoint of summer (believe it or not) is August 7th. Describe a perfect summer day. Have you had one this year?

Love this question because I feel I just had that on Sunday- Tea- Mass with My Hubby- Chatting with my 16 year old and then a walk on the rail trail together- grilled lunch out on the deck- floating in the pool- blogging- reading, a trip to a local farm with my 11 year old and then decompressing with reading and t.v.- that is as close to perfect as I have ever gotten :)

2. What's one thing you wish you knew before starting high school?

How to be more social I guess...hard to believe now as I am very outgoing but I was much more withdrawn in high school...it was a very competitive school in a very competitive and wealthy town so I was intimidated...I guess I would be more brave and put myself out there more- nothing to lose back then

3. What's something that bothers you if it's not done perfectly?

In general, it is when people are lazy and don't get things done in a timely manner- I am not a big one for excuses- just get it done already- ha!

4. What's the most overrated food you're convinced people are just pretending to enjoy? What's a trendy food you actually do enjoy and would say is definitely not overrated?

Hmmm..this is a tough one...I guess anything vegan?  I think people pretend they are good with vegan recipes and dishes...trendy?  Ummm?  Not quite sure...I guess Chipotle?  The kids love Chipotle and Chic Fil A and Shake Shack..I will say I do enjoy an occasional bowl at Chipotle.

5. Wrapping it up this week with five fun this or thats...

personal stylist or personal chef? Chef for sure!
dance like nobody's watching or sing like nobody's listening? Dance like nobody's watching
unlimited tacos or free pizza? FREE PIZZA...duh ;)
bookshelf organization-by size or by genre? Genre
ten minutes late or ten minutes early? 10 minutes early- ALWAYS- if you are on time, you are late in my book

6. Insert your own random thought here.

Soaking up summer...planning to step away from my computer for a few days this month to get to the beach and spend some extra time with my girls...how are you spending your August?

Hello Monday (August 4, 2025)

Hi Friends and Happy Monday!  I am here with Sarah and we are chatting about our weekends.  If you blogged about your weekends, hope you will join us.  Grab the graphic above and link back up with us below!

This is what our little summer weekend looked like...

Friday

Diana headed up to Vermont that morning, with her cheer pals.  The four girls who were picked to cheer in the Shrine game had to head up North for a day of practices and festivities and they were staying overnight.

That night, it was time for us to see Eva shine in her DRT production!  She played Charlie in "The Most Epic Birthday Party Ever!" She rocked it :)

I was joined by my parents and Rob's Dad/Papa.  Rob was in a golf tournament for work and had to miss it.

After Eva's show, the 4 of us snuck out to dinner which was delish.

Then we headed back to catch the camp slideshow and finale...Eva has been crying since...she is sooo sad that it is over...she is going to miss her DRT friends so much :(  I am just happy that she loved it so  much

Diana attended the Athlete's Banquet with her girls on the Eve of the Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl Game- she had a blast

Saturday

We were up bright and early, made a quick pit stop at  Dunks and headed on North.  Rob, Eva and I were attending the Shrine game at UVM, Castleton Campus, so we could support Diana and her fellow cheerleaders.  It was the 72nd Annual Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl Game and proceeds from this game benefit the Shriners Children's Hospitals in Montreal, Springfield and Boston.

The girls wow'd us...it was so fun...it left us VERY READY for FNL and more FALL FOOTBALL!  It was a tease :)

We left after the halftime show and stopped for a late lunch/early dinner at a place called Mollie's in Hanover NH-right near Dartmouth College.  We were very impressed!

We crashed early but not before we started binging Friday Night Lights, yes, yet again...hey it may be our last time.

Sunday

We had a slow morning which felt like heaven!  Diana and I headed to Starbucks to catch up.  I brought my tea from home while she got an iced matcha :)

I had the day off from real estate as my buyers were away so I took advantage and planned the perfect summer day- Mass, a Walk on the Rail Trail with Diana, Riding around with the top down, a grilled lunch and eating al fresco...floating in the pool (first time all year!) and then blogging, grabbing muffins with Eva and relaxing.

Blackout Update: Check out one of our banners- it is go time!  We are in the height of our annual tee shirt sale!

Robby B did the grocery shopping for me and then went golfing with the guys while I unwound with my book and some tv and a little trip to Sunnycrest Farms with Eva so we could snag a few of their S'mores Muffins for the house :)

It was an awesome and relaxing summer day!  Way overdue and SO  NEEDED :)

What were you all up to?
