What We've Been Up To

We have been all trying to help Diana mend her broken heart

We have been spending as much time outdoors as possible but definitely need more time out here

We enjoyed Eva's Spring Hockey Season

We have enjoyed many teas at Fuel Good

It was time for another successful Senior Breakfast!

There have been date walks :)

We made a trip to Home Depot as we give Diana a Room Refresh

We loved the EFAC Showcase and loved watching our girls DANCE!

Joe cooked for us ladies at this month's wine group- we had so many laughs and everything was delish!

We celebrated the last day of school!

Last Day of 4th Grade AND Last Day Ever at Golden Brook- many tears shed :(

4th Grade Clap out at Golden Brook was a Tear Jerker despite these smiles

There has been more tournament softball!

We celebrated Caden's high school graduation from Derryfield!

and more softball...and ice cream of course!

Play Dates in the Pool are a necessity in the summer!

and squeezing in Baby Sylvie squishes is also a requirement ;)

What I'm Dreading

Nothing at the moment- believe it or not- just in the middle of a very challenging time- praying things get better

What I'm Working On

Full Time Job- Second Job- Getting the Girls where they need to be- Managing the House- you know- "The Usual"

What I'm Excited About

4th of July Weekend!

What I'm Watching/Reading

Ummm...so I accidentally started this again...this would be time #3 or 4...I have lost count....I know it is one of the best series of all time because Rob jumped right back in with me too- very easy to get sucked in...this time Diana has watched some episodes with us too

Favorite Summer Series Back This Year- yeah! One of my favorite families of all time

We are awaiting the return of some of our other favorite summer series but they are all delayed this year due to the strike- The Summer I Turned Pretty, Sweet Magnolias and Ginny and Georgia

and my two books for June were

Never Lie- Frieda McFadden

Newlyweds Tricia and Ethan are searching for the house of their dreams.

But when they visit the remote manor that once belonged to Dr. Adrienne Hale, a renowned psychiatrist who vanished without a trace four years earlier, a violent winter storm traps them at the estate… with no chance of escape until the blizzard comes to an end.

In search of a book to keep her entertained until the snow abates, Tricia happens upon a secret room. One that contains audio transcripts from every single patient Dr. Hale has ever interviewed. As Tricia listens to the cassette tapes, she learns about the terrifying chain of events leading up to Dr. Hale’s mysterious disappearance.

Tricia plays the tapes one by one, late into the night. With each one, another shocking piece of the puzzle falls into place, and Dr. Adrienne Hale’s web of lies slowly unravels.

And then Tricia reaches the final cassette.

Another winner by Frieda McFadden- not my fave of hers but another interesting thriller for sure

and then my next book club read which was

The Block Party- Jamie Day

This summer, meet your neighbors.

The residents of the exclusive cul-de-sac on Alton Road are entangled in a web of secrets and scandal utterly unknown to the outside world, and even to each other.

On the night of the annual Summer block party, there has been a murder.

But, who did it and why takes readers back one year earlier, as rivalries and betrayals unfold—discovering that the real danger lies within their own block and nothing—and no one—is ever as it seems.

I really liked this one!  Great drama set in the burbs and so much of the story, outside of the murder, reminds me of our little town here in NH- ha!

What I'm Listening To

My newest playlist entitled "Diana's Sophomore Year" which includes "I Can Do It With A Broken Heart" by Taylor Swift, "We Can't Be Friends" by Ariana Grande, "Bye" by Ariana Grande, "Beautiful Things" by Benson Boone, "Now That We Don't Talk" by Taylor Swift, "What Was I Made For?" by Billie Eilish, "Last Night" by Morgan Wallen, "Greedy" by Tate McRae, "Stick Season" by Noah Kahan, "Texas Hold 'Em" by Beyonce, "I Remember Everything" by Zach Bryan, "FE!N" by Travis Scott, "Unholy" by Sam Smith and "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" by Shaboozey

What I'm Wearing

Wow I totally blew it for this prompt.  So sorry.  I haven't taken any pictures of my attire.  Most of the week it is business attire and workout clothes.  On the weekends, when we have something to do, I will throw on a dress- old Lilly Dress for Caden's party and Black Tank Dress for Boston

Here is a peak at the Lilly Dress...don't have a full body shot of the black dress but it was comfy and cool for the severe heat for sure!

What I'm Doing This Weekend

My goals for the weekend include:

A very long walk, Floating in the Pool and prepping for the 4th.

Mixed in between all of this we have some driving, work, a funeral, a graduation party and a birthday party all mixed in...all in all should be pretty relaxing

What I'm Looking Forward To Next Week

The 4th of July At the Lake, Sylvie's 1st Birthday Party and hopefully our first trip to the beach this summer!

What Else Is New?

Don't forget to join Patty and me tomorrow for Monthly Musings as we are talking all things summer!

  1. Holly I'm praying that your challenging time passes and you will soon see some light at the end of the tunnel. I also pray you find moments of relaxation and fun with friends in the midst of everything going on.

And on a completely random note, I want to watch Friday Night Lights. It sounds so good!!!

  2. Enjoyed reading this! So many good things, Holly! Your kids´ activities, the end of the school year, the concert- your plate is full and do it all. Your summer play list- this brought back fairly recent memories for me. The summer that Alyssa had her driving permit, we would listen to a lot of her favorite songs in the car when she drove and they became not just songs that I grew to like but now associate with that time. I can´t hear them now and not think about her driving with the top down (the car´s top was down- I just reread what I wrote and decided to clarify...) on those hot summer days, our hair blowing, me stressing (a little) and not believing that my baby was driving!

  4. @Maria I loved what you wrote-that is EXACTLY what is happening here right now- I put together the playlist so I would remember it all. It is bittersweet for sure. Excited for my girl-nervous as all heck but holding on to the together time as long as possible :)
