Hi Friends! Welcome to the November Edition of Monthly Musings where we are sharing a Holiday Preview! If you have shared some holiday traditions and are answering our questions, please link up with us!
We are not strict here, however, please don't just link up any ole blog post- it's annoying- we are not talking wedding or makeup or trying to get you more hits- we are talking about the joy- so let's cooperate....ha! Just needed to say that ;)
Here we go...
1. Favorite Holiday Tradition
Christmas Eve at My Auntie Peggy's for The Feast of the Seven Fishes- I don't think that this is happening this year so we will have to improvise- breaks my heart- but 2020
2. Must Have Holiday Wardrobe Staples
Always something sparkly and/or shimmery and festive scarfs are a must have too
3. Favorite Holiday Recipe/Dish?
My Mom's Christmas Stolen was always a fave growing up
I also love all of the fish on Christmas Eve
but
my favorite are Zeppolis- my grandmother used to make the best ones- miss her so much and miss eating Zeppolis at her house on Christmas Eve
They are like an Italian Fried Dough. You can find my recipe HERE
4. What will our holiday plans look like this year?
Not sure yet...they are a work in progress
5. Favorite Holiday Song
Oh Holy Night takes the cake for me!
6. Does COVID 19 make me want to do up the holidays even more? YES! I started decorating on November 1st this year because we can all use the extra joy around here this year
7. Any charities we like to help this time of year?
Yes! The Sonshine Soup Kitchen in Derry- the girls and I go shopping for food and deliver it to the kitchen together. One year we also became "Layaway Angels" at K Mart and paid off someone's Layaway Bill- that felt so good!
8. Tree before or after Thanksgiving?
See # 6 and that would also be 4 trees! :)
9. Favorite Holiday Movie?
Christmas Vacation of course- Rob quotes it ALL YEAR...sigh...
10. Egg Nog yes or no?
Just a sip...can't drink a whole glass...just too rich for me
So...what are your holiday traditions?
That fried dough looks so yummy! And I know that the holidays are going to look different here too... I'm trying not to be too sad, but it's hard!
ReplyDeleteLayaway angels?? I have never heard of that and almost started crying that you have done that. What a HUGE blessing that was to someone, Holly! You have such a beautiful heart.
ReplyDeleteI agree with your favorite Christmas song- it is mine, too. We are celebrating Thanksgiving this year on Friday with some extended family. Thursday it is just going to be our family of five- we are going to make appetizers and watch at least one Christmas movie. Our teens have never seen Christmas Vacation and that is the movie we plan to watch. I hope they like it as much as we do!!
ReplyDeleteI need to catch up to you on trees...we are only at two! All your food pictures look amazing and of course your fashion is so on point.
ReplyDeleteThankful to have another Good year with the Best blogging partner.

I can easily quote Christmas Vacation and probably do all year long too!
ReplyDeleteWe have lots of similar answers...I'll be linking up tomorrow. I know what you mean about the random posts linking up. Our Hello Monday link party is pretty open ended, but I still cant believe some of the posts we get. Lots of wedding and makeup posts. Hope you have a great day!
ReplyDeleteI too hate it when random posts link up -- it just feels so wrong. (I'm a rule follower - can you tell?!?!?!)
ReplyDeleteI love that you paid off someone's layaway bill -- that's so kind.
And I need to see Christmas Vacation -- I don't think I've ever seen it and a few people have mentioned it now.
