2020 AAB Performance Awards

Sunday was an amazing day- we are still on Cloud Nine here!

It is my favorite day of the year for dance.  Diana took part in the annual Performance Awards with her dance studio, Londonderry Dance Academy.  This program is run globally by The American Academy of Ballet.

I love this day because you get to see the progression of skills and talent as the kids grow each year.  It is also the best chance for us to see what Diana learns and is working so hard on all year.

Her hard work definitely paid off!  She scored in the highest category and was awarded "Gold with Distinction" which was her goal.  The bonus, though, was that she also received a scholarship to the AAB's summer program in New York.  We are not sure if she will partake this year- this is a big step and costly but we will do what we can to make it work financially and otherwise so we shall see!

For now, I have my grainy videos and blurry shots....I can't wait for the professional shots to come in.  We have a great photographer- Chuck Swierad and you will see a few of his shots at the end of the post- it is just a tease- can't wait for the rest!

These kids are in level 5 and competed at that level

First, some shots behind the scenes at rehearsal on Saturday.  It pays to have helpful friends :)

Then the girls started their warmups Sunday outside- so cute!
