What We've Been Up To

We had a wonderful weekend visit with my high school bestie and her family

We continued all of the campaigning

Mama enjoyed a Movie Night with the SPBs

Mama and Jilly have been enjoying Barre Class

Mama and Daddy enjoyed an adult night out during Feb Vaca

We enjoyed an overnight in Boston, with the Batsons, during February Vaca!

Mama enjoyed a Women's Networking Breakfast and got to hear a wonderful and motivational speaker, Gina Barreca, who was amazing!

Mama and Diana headed to Hartford with Lea and Sam for the girls first cheer comp of the season!

Eva had a dance party with Papa Pete when he and Mimi came back from their vacation

and we....kept...campaigning!

Diana started a new sport- lacrosse!  We...shall...see!

We enjoyed having Zach home for Spring Break!

and then we worked through and enjoyed a successful Election for Daddy!

Daddy and the Girls enjoyed the Annual Daddy Daughter Dance!

and we have been pouring over the professional cheer shots

We celebrated St. Patty's Day because nowadays kids expect you to :)

We also celebrated Mimi's Bday....

and Papa Bob's Bday!

We enjoyed the high school play (especially when we got to see Mandi)

Daddy was sworn in!

and we enjoyed dinner with Mama's work friends (Eva always loves the men!)

and the girls LOVED meeting the Easter Bunny!

and Diana played in her first lacrosse scrimmage

Lastly, we remodeled our kitchen.  All cosmetic friends!  Rob painted the cabinets white and got all new hardware.  We finally had window treatments done AND Carmen did our backsplash this week.  Outside of a potential accent wall, we are done and we LOVE IT!

BEFORE

AFTER

What I'm Dreading

Some of my best friends going to Aruba...I was supposed to go...I backed out because I felt too guilty which brings me to my next subject

What I'm Working On

Becoming stronger- not being riddened with guilt...working towards being healthier from the inside out.  Trying to do more for myself and instead of trying to please everyone around me...this will keep me healthier in the long term and make me a better wife and mother. Experiencing fun and joy should not come with guilt.  I am really working hard on it this year, with some professional help and all and hope by next year, you will see me traveling with my friends!

What I'm Excited About

A Golf Overnight with some SPBs.  See what I mean?  I am trying...even though it is for one night...I can't wait to get outside again and golf and with a fun group!

What I'm Watching/Reading

Well...several shows have wrapped up for the season like The Affair, Dance Moms, Younger, American Housewife and This is Us.

I am still enjoying some other favorites though.....

Jane The Virgin

Life...In Pieces

Scandal

Teachers

and a new cute show
Superior Donuts

and I have been really good at keeping up with my reading goal this year- one book per month.
So far so good!

January
It was The Couple Next Door by Shari Lapena
Awesome Suspense Novel- like Girl on the Train only I read it even faster- so intense- kept me turning the pages!

February
The Husband's Secret by Liane Moriarty
Another suspenseful novel but a little slower...more detail...complex characters...really enjoyed it so I will definitely be looking into other Liane Moriarty novels.

March
and I just finished up When Is Food Is Love- By Geneen Roth
I was going to read Sisterland but when I wasn't getting into it fast enough, I decided to do some educational reading and "self help" if you will.  So much in this book spoke to me so I am now inspired to read her others.

April
I just started Summer People by Elin Hilderband
You know I love me some Elin Hilderbrand AND I love beach reads so this one will carry me into the Spring!

What I'm Listening To

Some favorite songs that we have on rewind right now in the car....

We Don't Talk Anymore...Yes still ;)

I Lived....such an inspirational song

and of course....Fight Song by Rachel Platten

What I'm Doing This Weekend

We are heading to Providence for Diana's Cheer Comp and then Sunday hoping to have some quality family time with the rents

What I'm Looking Forward To Next Month

All sorts of fun: Easter, The Breast Cancer Fashion Show, Eva's Birthday and more!
(Princess Jasmine will be coming to Eva's party so I am researching all sorts of fun to go with that theme!)

What Else Is New?
I can't wait for Spring!  I can't wait to take out all of my Lilly!  I have Zach's graduation and a bridal shower and some town events and can't wait for it to be warm enough!

Bonus Question For The Month: "What's My Favorite Spring Wardrobe Piece?"

I would have to say my white kick crop jeans.  They are perfect for a super casual outfit and also an awesome staple when dressing up a bit!  They are comfy, trendy and the perfect staple for not only Spring but Summer too!
(You can't really see them in my Lilly pics above but they look kind of like the ones on the model here- even though she is a size 2) :)

That's All for Now- Can't wait to read all you have been up to!

  1. The kitchen looks GREAT! That was great willpower in turning down that trip to Aruba, and guilt is definitely an issue in this house. My mom definitely knows how to play that card on me, and it works every time- I definitely have to work on that. Cheers to a great April!
