Friday Favorites (Our Italian Restaurant Edition)

Well friends....it is going to be short and sweet this week....when I looked at my phone this morning, I realized that it was a super busy week...work wise...school wise...and just life...I took NO pics...anyway, I am dedicating Friday  Favorites this week to my Wine Club that I hosted last night.

Linking up with the lovely ladies HERE

Each month, friends take turn hosting our Wine Club.  Each month has a different theme.  Sometimes we try wines from one region of the world...other times we try a specific varietal

Last night, we decided to do all Michael David wines, since we recently went to their tasting and met one of the owners...they are truly some of our favorite wines and very affordable!

My other thought was that I wanted to do a pizza night...wine and pizza...probably my favorite meal...so friends each contributed a different pizza from a different local shop...so here is what our evening looked like

First up was Michael David's brand new Freak Show Chardonnay...we paired this with our appetizers- veggies and hummus and then the famous "Porky Tots" from Copper Door restaurant- delish!

Next up was the 6th Sense Syrah- this was paired with the Margerita Pizza from Pasquale's in nearby Londonderry

and then their new and limited Reggae Red Blend (with Bob Marley on the label) with the Veggie Pizza from 33 Hilltop right in town

and we got some special help from "Chef Pidge" :)

We then moved into the dining room and tried Michael David's Freakshow Cabernet- our original fave- with a plain cheese pizza from Kendall Pond Pizzeria right in town

and then Michael David's Petite Petit with the California Pizza from Capri Pizza right in town

and the Inkblot Cab Franc (my personal fave) with the Fig and Proscuitto Pizza from Tuscan Kitchen in Salem NH

Lastly, we headed into the family room for the two biggest wines of the night.....

Michael David Lust (he has a thing with the Seven Deadly Sins in case you didn't notice) and we paired this with a Roma Pizza from Proscuitto's in nearby Londonderry

and lastly, his big bold Ratpure with the Sporkie Pizza from Bertucci's

Everyone moved around the rooms and tried different wines and pizza at their own leisure...it was so relaxing....and we capped off the night with Beth Ann's wonderful homemade cream puff and some yummy chocolate....

and even got Rob to take a pic of the night owls...I rarely stay up late but last night was one of those times...was having so much fun!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!  Enjoy this Fall :)

  4. What an enjoyable evening. Good food, good wine and good friends. The labels on those wine bottles is lovely. Like mini pieces of art. We know nothing about wine at our house. My P. Charming goes straight to the sweeter wines - think Moscato and syrup! Then he looks at alcohol content. And finally the price! We probably should expand our horizons a bit.

  5. P.S. I appreciate the visits to my blog. Would love to have you join us for a mini-Christmas bucket list. We just put a few holiday related items on that list and share it on 11.21 and post about our adventures on 12.21. Nothing fancy. If you are interested, please email me at mommyhon333@hotmail.com.

    Thanks!
